I've been riding motorcycles for almost 50 years and have worked in the motorsports (motorcycle) industry for over 35 years. In that time I've had a few mishaps and I have seen a lot of injuries that could have been lessened or avoided completely if the proper riding gear and protection had been worn. As such, I try and wear the proper safety gear whenever I ride. But like most people, I don't care to be wearing excessive gear and be sweating when I'm out having fun on a motorcycle or UTV. Since I live and work in an area that sees extreme heat in the summer I thought I would try one of these mesh type armor jackets. I chose the one from GOHINSTAR as it seemed to offer all the features I wanted at a decent price. I'm just shy of 5'10", weigh 162 lbs, have a 33" waist, and a 40" chest. And my arm length is rough 22" (shoulder to wrist). Since I fell right between a Large and an Extra-Large using the seller's chart I decided to gamble and go with Extra-Large. After the jacket arrived I got busy with work and ended up not trying it on until after the return period was up. When I tried it on it felt too large at first, and thought oh great. But then I started adjusting the multitude of straps and Velcro adjusters and was able to size the jacket to fit me perfectly. (5 adjusters on just one arm sleeve alone.) Note: I may have been able to fit into a Large, but the Extra-Large gives me the option to wear over a thin shirt or adjusted out to fit over heavier clothing in cold weather. After adjusting to fit I found the jacket to be very comfortable and all of the protective padding seems solid and is positioned in all the vital areas that are normally prone to impact during spills. The armor is also sturdy as well as flexible so I don't feel any binding when riding my motorcycle or driving a UTV (side x side). And even with all the padding the jacket feels light and breaths well. Hopefully I never get to experience how well the protection works, but even if I don't the peace of mind knowing that it provides is well worth the purchase price. Tip: Be careful with the Velcro used on this jacket as it is extra grippy. If it gets hooked to the mesh portion of the jacket take your time to unhook it. Fits very nicely! You might have to mess with the straps and such to get it to fit just right! But nothing is perfect!

I wanted something affordable that would keep me safe on my brand new motorcycle and boy does this check that box. I got the red option because I wanted to be a little more noticeable when wearing it. The mesh is breathable (which is a must as I become over heated really fast/easily), there are straps around the arms, sides and back area that can be adjusted for a looser or tighter fit. The only problem I have is the waist strap, that wraps around your lower torso and waist, doesn’t go as tight as I need. I have a really small waist and the velcro doesn’t go as far around to the back as Id like. I appreciate that there is tailbone protection. Sizing is pretty accurate in my experience! I got a small which is my standard size of clothing.

It saved my skin!! It needs more protection around the waste and hip area, but other than that it's a good product 👌

Really good fit. Provides safety pads/covers on all joints and sensitive parts. Light weight and breathable. Definitely recommend this good quality

I'll start with this, for the price this is not a bad purchase. But the shoulder pads adjusted at all angles really do not serve there purpose, ideally they would need to be a larger pad to help if you were to slide or to help on an impact. The padding in general is not amazing, but again for the price this Is good amount of protection. I would not recommend for motorcycle gear unless your stunt riding at speeds less then 20mph. I don't see this gear really holding up past that as far as motorcycle gear. Protection is important people, if your looking for some gear that is good and will protect you at higher speeds it will likely cost you more. The fit is good, when keeping in mind your buying a size up or two up depending on dimensions. My review isn't to hate on the product, I'm sure it's great for mountain biking, BMX stunts, or other intense sports. I soley gave it this rating based on the idea of it being considered motorcycle gear, it may mislead new riders into thinking they are safe with the amount of areas the protection covers. Again this is likely an amazing purchase for other intense sports, or other activities, I will likely keep it for exactly that.

I love this vest. It is priced right and very well made for what it is. After scraping a bunch of skin off on my elbow 2 weeks ago, sliding down the pavement (luckily at < 10 mph), I decided it *is* worth wearing this! :) I feel much better cruising on my board at 25mph now than I did before. Road rash sucks. Wear a good helmet, leather gloves, and this vest and you'll be much much better off! It is very light weight. It breathes. I rode it for 15 minutes the other day in 103 deg F weather, and it was ok. It was certainly hotter than a plain T-shirt, but probably not any hotter than a thin long-sleeved shirt. For the extra protection though, it's worth it. It is also extremely lightweight. My only complaint is that I'd like a thin carrying bag (you know, like those cheapo disposable backpack type drawstring pouches) to come with it, to protect it when dragging it around San Francisco since I use it there to commute to and from places, but sometimes need to just carry my gear when not riding. Otherwise, it's super easy to scuff it up or accidentally put tiny tears in it when a part of it accidentally gets wedged against the rough road or against the grip tape on top of your skateboard, under your backpack. TO SELLER: Please add a thin drawstring carrying backpack for it. Thanks! SIZE NOTES: Note: I'm 5' 9", 155 lb, athletic build, and Medium fits perfectly! I think large would for sure be too big. - For Summer, I wear this over a short-sleeved shirt. - For Fall, it adds a tiny bit of warmth by itself, but I can wear it over a long-sleeved shirt easily too. - For late Fall, I can wear the vest over my T-shirt, and a light jacket *over the vest*. - For Winter, I can wear a heavy coat *over the vest*. BACKPACK: It wears very well with a backpack too! I regularly wear a 15~25lb backpack (sometimes with 2 large laptops, so pretty heavy) over the vest, and it wears very comfortably, so no issues there. EASE OF USE: - very fast to put on or take off - It is harder to put on than a sweatshirt or jacket, but not by a lot (takes maybe 2x as long). I can put it on or take it off in just a few seconds--probably 10 or 20 seconds. I'll see if I can post pictures of me and my board with this vest sometime. Photos are always nice to see.

I like when you get it fitted right it forms and remains. It looks boss as heck and feels great. Does allow air flow and if your not kicking a lonboard you stay cool no matter if it 95 degrees as long as your not exerting allot of energy you will remain a level body temperature. It supports and absorbs crashes nice. Since ive alread had the luxry to have highsidded off my board performing techincal slides around a corner at 20mph and got up like nothing happend. Ofcourse i wear a Helmet. And yes i Got this for Downhill Longboarding. And i make it look good! Wish it was allot more accomidating for women and their melons cuz mine do feel compressed a bit too much and have to open the zipper to beable to breath fully but its not like really annyoung cuz its bearable but girls if your getting this and your bigger then a D cup and a tall amazonis (like 6ft2inches) get a slight bigger then USLarge even though it still fits nice its a bit tight still....but all in all great affordable saftey crash gear.
