NAGAOKA MP Series MP-110 & MP-110H Replacement Stylus JN-P110

I love this cart on my Technichs SL-1200 MkII turntable. Records sound clear across the full sound spectrum with minimal inner groove distortion without breaking the bank.

I ordered an MP-110 a few years ago and was completely blown away how good it sounds on my system. The warmth of this cartridge and stylus complements my vintage setup perfectly which consists of: a Marantz 6300 turntable inherited from my dad after he passed away, a lesbox modified Yaqin MS23B all tube phono stage, a handful of warm sounding receivers by Sansui, Pioneer, Technics, Sherwood, and possibly my favorite a Yamaha CR-440 which isn't as warm as the others, but has a perfectly balanced "natural sound" that Yamaha is known for, and for speakers some mid-fi Polk, Sansui, and Kenwood (which sound great to my ears though). Recently I heard a tiny bit of distortion and after troubleshooting by resetting all turntable adjustments and swapping out tubes I suspected a worn stylus since I've put in approximately 700 hours. Nagaoka's recommended stylus replacement after 150-200 hours is completely absurd. Although I don't have a microscope to see the stylus up close I can tell by ear it far surpasses their recommendation. I ordered up a JN P-110 and sure enough that perfectly magical sound was back! Highly recommended for rich, detailed, warm sound from your records! PS - I've tried the JN P-200 stylus on my MP-110 cartridge body and it sounded better than the P-110 but I don't think the price was worth the upgrade. It might be worth it if you use it on the recommended P-200 cartridge body.

The stylus replacement did the job. The sound is warm , clear and crisp.

Soooo, without thinking I took a swipe at some dust I saw on the TT plinth underneath the cartridge. My fat fingers snapped the damn needle off. Stupid move! First and last time I'll ever do that. Lesson learned. At least I got plenty of hours of use on the needle before it happened. So not that huge of a deal, really, since the stylus would've needed replacement sooner rather than later. This was a perfect replacement of just the stylus, no need to replace the entire cartridge. Sounds just like the previous one. By all appearances it's a genuine replacement. The MP-110 cart itself is very nice sounding and this is the perfect replacement stylus. Cheers

This is my second after literally wearing my last one out over 5 years. Saw a very detailed review comparing this with others that cost more and this was the clear winner. Buy one. Put on your best music and send the kids outside. Amazing.

The sound quality of this cartridge and stylus is absolutely amazing. The bass is full and fantastic. The mid range and highs are full crisp and clean. This is my third replacement stylus in four years using the original cartridge. I think it next time instead of replacing the stylus I’m going to upgrade to the MP 200 . Nagaoko to me makes the top of the line cartridges and styluses for the price. I absolutely love their selves. I guess you can say I highly recommend and I’m a very satisfied continued customer.

Way back in the 1980's I had a Nagaoka MP15. I loved the sound of that cartridge. I kept it and have been replacing the stylus regularly. this is the latest replacement. Well worth the money. The sound is warm, clear and musical.

I replaced my MP-30 (MP-300) stylus by a MP-110. To my surprise, loved more the MP-110. More depth in sound !
