Great history lessons on Jamaica along with recipes both traditional and creative.

I love this book, many different recipes that are all excellent. I'm a Jamaican who has learn to cook from my Dad, Mom and Grandma. This book taught me some things that I didn't even know of. Get this book.

As a Jamaican and a cook, I find this gives another perspective on mainstream items which allows them to be more readily accessed by non Jamaicans. It breaks down dishes to make them less complicated as often these items are just taught in family kitchens and to be honest I never had recipes for them. My favourite "new" recipe in the book ...I love the callaloo spring rolls in ackee sauce, I could eat them all day! Overall, I'm very pleased with this buy; this is a great book to add your Caribbean cooking library.

Is ok… more stories than recipes itself. I just used a few recipes but not seems very cultural.

It’s good quality but could have more recipes and imagery

As a Jamaican who loves food and also want to be sure to prefect my cooking this book was perfect. Also it was great as gifts fir my none Jamaican friends.

I find this cook book to be well written and the preclude island history biography to be excellent ; and the recipes cover all aspects of jamaican cooking.

I bought one as a gift, then ended up buying four more. I'll probably buy additional ones. Why? The recipes are easy to make, and as a Caribbean, I find them authentic and true to what I grew up eating as a child.

I really enjoyed using the book 'Authentic Recipes from Jamaica', as a guide during my cooking. Being Jamaican, I am used to the meals shown in the book, but just never seem to get it 100% perfect, just the way my Mom and Grandmother would prepare these meals. After experimenting with some of the recipes from the book so far, I think I have finally gotten it and now realise that there were certain ingredients that I needed to include in my own cooking to get the perfect taste. Fantastic book and I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in Jamaican cooking. Thanks Amazon !

I have only browsed some of the recipes, but I ordered the book for a certain few recipes. On the face of it, the book will work for me very well. It arrived very quickly, which is a good job as I was so excited. You're cooking skills will improve in leap and bounds, as the recipes are well laid out with a good size font, and the ingredients are easily sourced.
