Purchased this to add to the tool box for optuinslity when I need different ratchets of different lengths. This Proto works great, solid, well made, will outlast some of my less expensive big box store brands. Some of those other brands have already broken or jammed and won’t ratchet properly. Proto has no issues! Well worth the cost.

Nice handle, perfect grip. Right length gives a very good leverage.

After Sears sold craftsman tools turned to Proto, great tools.

It’s no frill. The ratchet mechanism is unrefined and engagement of the gears feels rough when the lever is turned. Those china made cheap stuffs sold in big box stores are better constructed. I will keep it only because it’s made in the USA.

I needed a tough 1/2-inch drive ratchet, and wanted American-made. The price for this Proto was reasonable. It's exactly what I was looking for.
