Basic & Clinical Pharmacology

Book is outstanding and the best on the market for medical training. Pharmacology Flashcards are not enough. You're setting yourself up for failure by just knowing what is printed on the Flashcards which I also own. Goodman & Gilman is more thorough but dated and too intense for the MD level. Katzung has great review of physiology of systems, application of drugs and well organized. Images, charts and graphs are very helpful. Get this book if you're training to be an MD

This is an amazing reference book for both MDs as well as Pharm.Ds as it contains both diagnostic criteria AND current guidelines for treatment of diagnoses. I am using it to help me study for the BCPS as well as Lange's "Basic & Clinical Pharmacology Reference book. The two together are, in my opinion of greater help to the practicing professional than Goodman and Gilman or Therapeutics. Great layout, great page weight, clearly written with lots of diagrams for the visual learner. A great reference.

We have free access to the book online through our school but I went ahead and bought it so I can highlight and mark up important parts. There are chapter summaries in the hard copy book that I have not seen online, and they are amazing for bringing the whole chapter together!

This book is not a difficult read if you already have solid knowledge of pathological physiology . It is not for plain pharmacology, it is for "clinical pharmacology", usually a more advanced course, for this reason it is not as dry and insipid as other books that list drugs 1 by 1, The book walks you through the interactions and physiology very well. and has lots of history, but it is all relevant. The book is a masterpiece and you cant read a single page without learning 10 new things. I read lots a bad reviews, this book is great, its not for the mediocre student.

The book is very dry, but if you are interested in learning the material... you'll grab your caffeine and shut out the world. Sometimes difficult to follow, but the chapters aren't days long. I give it a five because I'm not out there reading other pharm textbooks to compare it, and it's getting its job done. So if you are required to read this for class, it'll do.

What a great book. Revisits the Physiology beautifully as an introduction to truly understanding the MOA of the drugs. Easy to understand and absolutely helpful. Delivered in great shape and on time too (even though it took a couple days).

This book explains things in exactly the way I learn best, down to a molecular level. It explains where drugs bind on receptors and how they exert their clinical effects. Great review tool as I prepare for the NAPLEX.

I purchased as a brand new book and the front cover was almost completely ripped off. Should have been sold as like new because the rest of the book was. When you pay new price for it the front cover should not be ripped.

This book give detailed information compared to tripati book but packing is very worst i got opened one

Incredibile il prezzo irrisorio pagato per questo libro rispetto alla libreria (edizione più nuova tralaltro). Ridicolo come ancora ci si ostini invece a studiare sui libri non italiani dopo traduzione, spesso pessima. Il libro non necessita di commenti. Sintetico (1400 pagine) e al punto. Bello.

Everything you need to know, is in that book. All the pharmacological groups are in here, even the most recent in the therapeutics, it worths every penny.
