Worked Great!!!
Feral cats were peeing on things everything, competing against each other. I ordered this to catch and re-home them. Great trap. Caught the first feral cat within 2 hours. Worked so good, that it trapped our house cat 4 times (he isn't very smart apparently). I covered the top with a piece of wood and placed it close to a wall so it was more tunnel like. Placing a little food just inside the trap and then the can of food at the end worked well. Great product. Working on catching the last feral cat and rehome him.

Tricky but Great
It can be a bit tricky to set the trigger. If you've never used a trap before you might get a little frustrated. That being said, it works like a charm. My semi-feral foster cat busted his catio open and escaped. I set this trap near the catio where he spent most of his time with some wet food and a blanket over it. It also may help to put a light liner on the bottom. I used a potty training pad. Some animals may not like the feel of the cage on their paws and refuse to go in. I caught him the first night the trap was out. Great product, a lifesaver!

Quality product
Sturdy. Works great. Before using I reinforced all connection points with zip ties. Glad I did. The first feral cat I caught was a feisty one and he was bouncing the cage around with his movements. But the cage held tight. Quality product.

Did the job, but the sensitive setting won't hold
I bought this Havahart trap in order to trap a couple of feral cats, so I could bring them to the vet for neuter and spay, and to capture the kittens from the 2 litters that the female had birthed and was raising on my property. I was able to trap a tomcat (not the papa) first, which had been in a fight and had an infected leg. Off to the vet for antibiotic treatment and to be neutered. Next caught was the mama cat, which I had spayed. There were two 10-month old kittens left from her Spring litter and 5 kittens from her Fall litter. I successfully captured 2 of the younger ones and brought them to the no-kill shelter. Then I began having difficulties with the trap. The lever won't set properly to drop the trap door. I've had heavy cats waltz into the trap, eat up the bait, and waltz back out. I finally caught both a younger kitten and an older one at the same time. Sadly one of the two remaining younger ginger kittens disappeared, probably falling victim to a predator. I've caught and released 3 different feral cats this week; but, the one kitten left to catch has gone into the trap to eat and left without triggering the trap door. My frustration level has peaked! I have tried and tried to get the top lever to stay at the most sensitive position; but, it just keeps sliding off and snapping the trap door shut. Then it doesn't release on the less sensitive position, which is the only position that keeps the trap door open. More experimentation is called for. I MUST catch that last ginger kitten before a predator does or the weather gets even colder. The mama cat and remaining 10-month old are truly feral and can survive outside, especially now that I invested in a heated cat house. Of course I feed them, because I can't in good conscience let them starve. My goal was to stop the female from reproducing and get the kittens to the no-kill shelter, thereby ending what was becoming a large cat colony. At least I've accomplished that goal. I keep baiting and setting the trap in an attempt to catch that last youngest kitten. I live in hope! P.S. The last kitten (a rare female ginger) finally entered the trap and was caught. I was praising God and I'm SO RELIEVED!

Worked on first night
Received this product the next day after ordering it. Set it up that night, and caught the little bandit that was helping himself to my Sulcata tortoise’s food every night. It was simple to set up and simple to release the raccoon. From trail cam cameras I knew he had come by about 4:30 each morning, so I got up at 6:00 am and he was in the cage. He had been digging up the ground for the time he was trapped in an attempt to get out but he no damage to the cage at all. And more importantly the raccoon was not hurt when he was trapped. Drove him about 10 miles away and hopefully he won’t find his way back.

Caught the raccoon killing our chickens in 40 minutes. Animal went berserk once caught but the trap held strong. Easy to set up. Easy to bait. Instructions easy to follow. Hair trigger without false triggering by the wind etc. Better construction than those cheap Chinese knock offs.

Il y a autour de chez moi beaucoup de chats sauvages attirés par les chats domestiques de mes voisins, je suis obligé de traiter le problème. Cette cage est parfaite pour les attraper et les emmener un peu plus loin. Facile d’utilisation et robuste

We had some feral cats hanging around that kept having kittens, so we kinda were infested with them. We got this live trap because it doesn't hurt them, and it is big enough and strong enough that they could get in but couldn't get out. It is made with good quality steel. Even though it has been out in the rain for a week, it hasn't rusted after a month. To trap the cats I put a cover over the cage to disguise it. For about 4 days, I tied the door open so that the trap wouldn't go off, and the cats could get used to the trap without being scared. I put food out every day, but each day I moved the food deeper inside the trap. Once they trusted it, I set the trap to catch them. Once caught, I get a jute bag and put over the opening. Then I open the trap, and they run into the bag. I can safely relocate them without harm to me or the cat. I usually only catch one at a time, but I have caught two at once, and they both fit in there peacefully. This is one of the best investments we have made!
