Electronic Dry Cabinet (18L)

Pretty much exactly what I needed for a single camera body and a few lenses. The size seems small but it fits a surprising amount of gear and comparing the humidity the unit displayed seemed pretty accurate. It's small enough to fit on a shelf too, completely out of the way. Love the light it has too.

Living in a tropical environment with typical humidity above 75%, I finally ordered a Ruggard for my camera equipment. This smallest version, it fit two DSLR bodies and eight consumer lenses. The screen displays temperature and relative humidity. After just a few minutes, the RH started to drop and it seems to be working well. The cabinet itself is lightweight and does require power but does not require constant airflow, so it can be installed in a closet or cabinet. The instructions say not to install where the back is up against a wall, space it out a few inches. There are a few different sizes of Ruggard cabinets to choose from, and the shapes are different as well, so you should be able to find one to fit your needs. I know other photographers who have one or two Ruggard cabinets for their gear and I haven't heard anything bad yet. If you live somewhere dry, these cabinets could be used to organize and lock up your equipment from toddlers. If you live somewhere humid, I can't overstate how important it is to not have mold in your less used lenses or backup bodies. Some of my lenses are hand me down manual focus lenses from a dry area, so I don't use them for sports(my normal use), but they sit around until it's go time and one of them started to develop some mold, so I decided it was time to protect the rest of the collection. One of these cabinets is less hassle than sending a lens somewhere for cleaning or buying replacement lenses. Very good organizing and drying for delicate electronics, camera equipment or delicate collectables.

It works as advertised, has great technology, and keeps whatever you want to keep dry. For example, I washed the thermometer it became cloudy with moisture, I placed it in the Ruggard, and it did its job. See picture
