Oasis supply Lustre Dust, Egyptian Gold (Super Gold), 2 Gram

I needed some edible gold dust for stenciling the “Roman coins” (peppermint patties) I made for an event. This product was great — I used it dry and undiluted and “painted” it right onto the chocolate. It adhered well and stood up to subsequent freezer storage. I ordered two containers, which were more than enough to stencil 160 patties plus brush the tops of 72 bar cookies. The texture is very fine, so it flies around a little bit, but cleans up well from surfaces and looks great.

A local coffee shop had a theme in July of this year where they made their non-coffee drinks "shine." When I discovered it was a limited promo and not a new thing sticking around, I went searching for a product to do it with on my own. It was a simple thing but could make me and so many people I interacted with smile, so I had to have it in my life. I bought a few different decorating things before trying this that were all wrong, but this is exactly what I was looking for- just in gold. It makes this wonderful swirly, marblely, shimmer pattern as you swish your straw/spoon around and it's lovely and mesmerizing. I wish it was cheaper, came in a bigger bottle, and had a shaker top as the seal on this is very tight, the bottle is very small, and I have spilled and lost a bit in the opening process, but it's still worth it and I'll continue to buy it (and the pearl version) as long as they exist.

I was needing some gold to use on cookies I was doing for an engagement party. I needed it rather quickly, so I went to the local Hobby Lobby, etc. They had gold but not the right color gold, yes there are several different gold colors. I didn't have time to run all over time searching for just the right color. I was very happy to find the Egyptian gold luster dust here on Amazon. It was shipped quickly & 2 days later I had the correct color gold. It is a small container but you only need a very small amount. I needed to paint the cookies, so I had to use some type of alcohol to mix with the luster dust to make the paint. Water doesn't work! All I had was rum but it left no taste at all. I painted the cookies with 2 coats of the luster dust paint. They turned out beautifully- everyone was pleased. I was quite happy with the results & how easy the luster dust was to use. When the time comes, I will buy it in other colors. I know it takes time to write reviews but I depend on them. I write reviews, both good & bad, because I like to read reviews. Normally I will pass on a product with no reviews. For me reviews will make the difference between a purchase or no purchase.

I gave the dust a 4 because I am unsure whether user ignorance or product. I followed info on YouTube regarding Vodka for painting. It did not work. I ended up painting powder directly on goods. It came out with a gold sheen as opposed to making product gold. Again unsure whether user error or product. I would advise you do your homework or actually contact seller for directions prior to use. There was no detectable smell and the powder was Extremely fine.

I purchased this as well as the luster dust in silver. The silver has a really pretty shimmer to it compared to the gold. The gold was a little dull. It almost comes off as mustard yellow. However, it is still very pretty.

I used this luster dust to decorate oscar party cookies and it worked great. It is an ultra fine powder that can be applied using a variety of methods. I used it much like i use craft glittter and glue. Lightly dusted fresh royal icing with the powder, shook the cookie to spread the luster dust, tapped off the excess, and returned it to the container. The jars are tiny, but a little goes a long way, so i will have this dust for many more batches of cookies. It adheared well to the fresh icing and i used a very soft paintbrush to dust it off of the dried icing where i didnt want the luster dust. Fun stuff

This product exceeded my expectations. I'm really happy with the rich gold color I was able to obtain using this applied on fondant. It did take a couple of coats but even the first coat still had a nice opacity that would've been fine on it's own. Are use this to color a unicorn horn for a cake and it was fantastic. The gold was very bright and beautiful, it took about 3 coats to get it the way I wanted but it went on easily. I applied it dry and mixed with lemon extract or vodka and both methods worked well.

I used this for adding gold on a cake I decorated and I wasn’t impressed with the finishing product of this gold. It just looked streaky and yucky. I wouldn’t buy again
