Classic basic science lab thermometer
This is essentially the same thermometer as used in most freshman level chemistry courses. Works great, obviously will break if dropped but not hazardous as it does not contain mercury.

Good Thermometer::: Many years ago I purchased a very good thermometer that was accurate within one degree. I used it to set the accuracy of all my other thermometers. I accidentally broke it so I had to purchase this thermometer to fill my needs. The original came in a chrome container. I installed my new thermometer in the chrome case. This is also a dual reading thermometer which is even better..

DOES NOT WORK FOR YOGURT MAKING
I used not one, but two of these thermometers when measuring the temperature of milk when making yogurt in my Instant Pot. NEITHER ONE WORKED. NOT.EVEN.CLOSE to measuring the correct temperature. I had boiled the milk to 181 degrees F in the instant pot. I put one thermometer in the milk after I removed the interior pot from the instant pot. It is supposed to cool down to about 115 degrees F. The temperature did not even reach 70 degrees on the thermometer. I tried the 2nd thermometer. Neither one reached above 70 degrees F to begin with. Very disappointed. I do not recommend this product.

Works Great
Worked great for checking my digital thermometer, which I was afraid wasn't measuring correctly. I had a recent batch come out thin and lower FG than expected and I wanted to make sure my thermometer wasn't to blame. I would not use it on brew day, as I'd be worried about breaking it and making Mercury Ale with it. Its easy to read and responds quickly.

A little off, but okay.
With all the digital clock-thermometers, etc., that I have, some which are 3 or more degrees off from each other, I wanted a standard to calibrate against. Like the calibrated mercury-filled thermometers I had way way back in lab class, right? Okay, so I got this one (red-colored alcohol, not Hg) to use for that purpose. First thing I did was try both hot/cold references. An icewater bath should be 32F/0C, but was showing as 34F instead. Water brought to a rollicking boil should read 212F/100C, but was similarly reading high, around 214-215F. Offset error, looks like. (NYC, altitude ~50ft ASL, baro = 30.03 as of this writing) The readout would have been clearer in only one scale, F *or* C, but was in both, so the scale was rather "busy", with digits clashing with the graduations. Still, it was rather nicely packed, the plastic sleeve for the thermometer itself, then wrapped in "foam-paper" or whatever it's called, then in a nice thick cardboard tube, then finally in the rather spacious box, so it came to me in one piece. So yeah, I'd feel more confident had the thermometer read accurate temperatures directly vs "fudging" readings by subtracting 2-3 degrees. I still don't have my temperature reference, but I can fudge it, sort of.

Good thermometer
It’s a lab quality thermometer and as such I expected it be accurate. The case is very good. Not big or bulky but good to protect the thermometer.

It’s a thermometer.
Nothing fancy. Does what it’s supposed to do and does it well. Good price.

Great Lab Thermometer
No issues, measured temp as described. Easy to read. Came in a reasonable protective case for storage. We measured water temp while heating the water for a science fair experiment.

Total rip off. Came in broken with no return or replacement option. It was package in a plastic tube with bubble wrap so it should not have broken in transit! The plastic packing tube wasn't bent or damaged. I suspect it was broken before shipping.
