Decent Strategy Game
This is the entire collection of games since Tiberian Wars. I have not been able to play all the games but I started to play the first release. It was formatted for the old EGA/VGA days. The icons and landscape where very basic back then. I was not impressed with the format so I went directly to the last release, Generals. You can either play the computer or an online skirmish. Since I don't have very fast Internet and don't care for online games at all, I played the computer. The graphics are pretty decent in this version with a good 3d perspective and good detail. You can either scroll trough the game map by moving the mouse to either side or left click on the radar map, if the map is active. You can rotate your perspective with the middle mouse wheel and ball. You can zoom in with the middle mouse wheel. In Generals there are 3 sides you can chose to play. The USA of course, the Chinese, and a terrorist group called the GLA patterned after the Middle East and Afghanis. Which ever group you choose you will play a number of scenarios with that group against either one or both of the others. They have a training scenario to get you started. You usually play with fog of surroundings which you have to disclose.Overall the game is not bad except you can't adjust the speed of play and the vehicles have this idiosyncrasy of not following roads but just going in a straight line direction mowing down civilians, trees and other small objects if they can. They can't go through buildings or climb up steep inclines like normal vehicles. In some scenarios you have a definite time to counter the hostiles before they overwhelm you. That's where the strategy comes in. The computer will look on how effectively you used you resources to take down the enemy or achieve an objective on a mission and will advance you to a higher rank with points and more options to be gained.Be warned some of the scenarios are very hairy and can get frustrating. After a milestone you should save the game, maybe in separate saves so if you find you were spinning your stars so to speak, you can go back to a earlier period. It's a game best learned by doing and then getting more info from the manuals as needed. I give it 3.5 stars for basic playing enjoyment. I'm still learning on some of the interfacing as there is a learning curve but that's half the game. The downer is you have to have the CD in the drive in order to play, anti-pirate thing. There is one more option and that is "design a scenario" where you can pick your terrain field and opponents with other options. I am currently playing a scenario with that pick. In that play you can vary on how fast the game flows with a speed control.I don't know if I'll get to Tiberian Wars as I am actually waiting for "Sid Meier's Civilization- Beyond Earth" which comes out this fall sometime and may be more to my liking. Tiberian Wars looks to be very advanced and may require a even steeper learning curve. Do not ask me for strategy tips as there are after-market strategy guides either retail or some game site. And don't ask me about hardware or software issues as I didn't design the game, I'm just a player.

Damn addictive!
I got the saga a couple of days ago, and started with the first Command and Conquers game. Man, I must say that even though it is a decade old, its still damn addictive. Of course, the graphics and video's don't look that good, but its still worth playing the old games. The packaging is really good, installation simple and the game launcher is convenient where u can select any of the installed C&C game to play. Definitely a must buy product for any C&C fan! This will provide hundreds of hours of gameplay!

Awesome game collection
As far as The First Decade is concerned - no more comments are needed on this classic collection. I grew up with these games and now i have all titels in one collection and compatible to todays hard-/software - great!Talking about Tiberium Wars - C&C catches up with todays tech. Great graphics, but still fully playable on medium prized hardware. Same story as before - just better graphic and mission briefing videos in Full HD. Cool gameplay, but pretty tough levels on hard difficulty setting.Anyway - tons of fun here!!!Andreas B., 32yrs, Germany
