This product works excellent as a water repellent on all types of fabrics. I spray it on my golf shoes which were listed as “water resistant” and it makes them water proof !! I’ve used it on lightweight jackets as well and it works perfectly. Although it has a strong odor when using (spray outdoors) it dries quickly and the smell goes away quickly as well.

Even wine and mustard wipe right off with a damp cloth. I used to cover my furniture every time it rained, but now I don’t bother — my cushions still look brand new. I bought another brand spray for outdoor furniture covers and was not to impressed. I wanted the water not to soak into the fabric after a time of wetness. Within 10 days I added the Scotchguard spray on top of that and followed the directions exactly. I can tell you you must wear gloves or use a bag to keep this stuff off your skin and you will absolutely need a covid mask to prevent inhaling the aerosol spray from getting into your throat and lungs. So how did the Scotchguard so? Well it's about the same as before. Not really waterproof from rain and heavy dew. The covers look cleaner for some reason after these treatments. Water sort of beads on the fabric but if this were a windbreaker you were wearing you would feel the water in the fabric. So that's all you get for some really expensive spray that you hope would cover a lot more acreage. Somebody must have cracked this code and I will keep on looking and wouldn't buy this again at this price or to get this job accomplished.

Good product, constantly need to spray 2 - 3 months to keep repellent on the surface. My is a tent.
