I’ve only ever used spring-action capos and, while they’re easy to use and pretty cheap, I’ve recently been getting frustrated with how often I’m having to retune when using my capo. I’ve also noticed a lot of buzzing when you put a capo anywhere past the fifth fret. This capo, however, has completely resolved those issues! Zero buzzing or going out of tune, all from an easy-to-use, well-built and low-profile capo. It’s not the cheapest but it’s not the most expensive kind of capo out there either and, for my money, it’s easily the best and probably going to save needless fretboard repairs in the long run!

Brilliant capo. I had used Dunlop capos for years and thought they were great, until I got one of these. I honestly will not use another brand from now on, and I highly doubt I would need to buy another one unless I lose this. It fits my guitar neck perfectly and I get ZERO FRET BUZZ, which was always and issue previously, especially on the thicker E string. It grips as hard as you squeeze it on and the release mechanism is great and easy to use too. There is no spring from what I can see so there are no worries about the strength of the spring. It goes on as hard as you squeeze it. Great bit of kit.

If you don't want to read my narrative below, I'll start with a summary:- Pros:- i) Keeps guitar in tune better when in use than most of the others I have; ii) Sturdy build; iii) Unobtrusive and compact - gets less in the way of your fingers when using the lowest fret nearest the capo; iv) Minimal string rattle and maintains a reasonable tone, again in contrast to some capos I have; v) Doesn't seem to damage the finish on the guitar; vi) Very easy to use - just squeeze to put it on and use the release catch to remove. Cons:- i) Far more expensive than any other capo I've bought! ii) Can't be operated with one hand.# iii) Probably pretty easy to lose! I've owned many types of capo over the years. I've never been a huge fan of using them and would generally prefer to learn a song in a different key so it could be played without the capo and thus keep the bass notes as low as possible. This has not been much of an option for me lately, as I've been performing songs at a local pub and forced out of my comfort zone by having to sing the songs I'm playing, myself! I haven't had much time in between appearances and therefore found it useful to just use a capo so I can sing the song in question and make it manageable in my limited vocal range (when in the past I've been lucky enough to have proper vocalists to accompany and just played in the original keys). It has saved me having to re-learn songs in another key. I am not a good enough guitarist to just change keys on the fly. Until recently, I didn't realise that all capos are essentially not made equal! I know that it's often helpful to tune your guitar with the capo on rather than off, but didn't realise that some, like this one, are better at keeping everything in tune. It is very easy to put on and remove. It doesn't get in the way of certain chord shapes played at the nut-end of the neck as much as other capos I have. My Shubb is also very compact and similarly unobtrusive. I have a number of trigger capos and some of them can get in the way. This was considerably more expensive than the capos I've bought in the past, but as I've been regularly playing and singing of late, I thought it was worth splurging for the improved tone, minimal string rattle and maintaining as much accuracy of tuning as possible. Recommended if you're willing to part with the cash!

Beautifully engineered & designed – in your hand, you just sense its sheer quality. A quick squeeze action, and it is doing its job. Easy release too. The problem with many spring/clamp, or screw pressure setting, capos, is that they tend to over clamp – by applying far too much pressure, they pull the strings back towards them, causing tuning issues. This brilliantly conceived capo has definitely engineered its way around this problem. HOWEVER, while this capo applies just the right pressure on an electric, I do not think it suitable for many (or even most) acoustic guitars, where its string stopping pressure is too weak. Its strength with electrics is its weakness with acoustics. Hence ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐s . Just my personal experience. (Although other comments on here refer to the G7th Performance 3 applying insufficient pressure on their acoustics.)

First one that arrived was damaged so I thought this capo was going to be all hype and advertising .. I returned it and got a new one arriving the next day, so I had a negative mind expecting it to not work as I play a resonator with a fairy high action .. it took me a few goes to get used to it, you simply press the capo down onto your strings and it locks itself .. it works a treat .. you just press and it holds, I’m really pleased with it, and you just press the lever to unlock .. someone said you need 2 hands to operate it, you don’t .. it’s easy with one hand as all your doing is pressing it onto your strings I well recommend this capo, worth every penny and looks cool, and doesn’t get in the way

The g7th performance 3 is an excellent bit of kit. Straight out of the box it's very easy to get to grips with. The mechanism is very intuitive and easy to use. The adaptive radius technology seems to work perfectly, no string buzz at all. Most importantly I would like to highlight how good this capo is at keeping the guitar in tune. Never have I had a capo that has managed to capo up to the 9th fret and the guitar still be in tune. It truly is a masterful piece of engineering. OK now the (supposed) downside. It is on the expensive side in the capo market. But in everything you get what you pay for. If you have multiple guitars it will work on all of them, at gigs less time is wasted having to retune every time you move the capo, the most innovative design for years, the list goes on for reasons why this isn't really that expensive.

Love this - easy to use with one hand. Performs amazingly, a solid build quality that you should expect for the price (this is the most expensive capo out there) the weight is really light and adjustment on the fly is simple - definitely will be getting a few more for other instruments and would highly recommend

It's ok, But I feel like I'm just justifying it because I spent too much on it, I think the rubber surface that presses on the strings should be a bit harder to have a better hold on the notes

Buzzes more than half the time. My Dunlop trigger fly does the job much better at half the price, almost always right each time.

Different capos work well with some guitars and some not. What I might use on a certain acoustic may not work well with some of my electrics. That being said, I play out professionally and my guitar of choice on stage is a Gretsch Duo-Jet. I went through a few different capos over the years, dissatisfied with all of them for the two big reasons, tuning distortion when I put the capo on so I had to re-tune every time I put the capo on or moved it. Reason two was that when I bent strings, quite often the string would not return to the original position. The G7 absolutely solved those problems. You have total control over the pressure you want to apply when putting it on. That makes a huge difference right there. You need different pressures depending on far far up the neck you are placing it. I have found with practice that I can put it on and stay pretty much in tune. Maybe adjust the low E a tiny bit, but not much. And when I bend, the strings stay in place. This is not a cheap capo, but well worth it IMO.

Good solid easy and nice looking capo
