25 Thuja Green Giant Arborvitae 8-14" Tall Trees

I live in an old town prone to flooding so house foundations are high. I feel like I'm in a fishbowl in my yard, all the neighbors can look down at me from their houses and I can't really relax. Green giant is known for fast growth so I bought 2 gallon size from a big orange hardware store. Those were clearly over watered and suffering, the tips were brown and sad looking. I paid $25 a piece for those poor suffering trees. I was skeptical about buying plants online, especially from a large company like Amazon... What, do they store live plants in their warehouse or something? Ha, okay. Anyways, I was looking for more green giant because 2 wouldn't cut it and I found these. $100 for 25 specimens is a lot better than $50 for 2. I saw a few reviews and decided to give it a shot. The plants arrived quickly and very well packaged, all of them in individual pots, 5 to a bag, all with bright green new growth and HUGE root balls coming out of the planters. One of them had roots growing out the bottom of the pot and back into the top of the same pot. These are obviously healthy happy and skillfully propagated trees and I can't wait to finally have some privacy (in 3-5 years, haha). Thank you!

Delivery Time: 5/5 - took only a few days for it to arrive. Ordered on a Sat arrived the following Wednesday. Condition of plants: 5/5 - they came very green and alive. I was pleasantly surprised that each plant had a decent root structure. Each plant was as advertised. Packaging: 6/5 - absolutely phenomenal. I ordered 50 total plants. Each came in a 2”x2”x4” container filled with decent dirt and completely saran wrapped. The cardboard box they where shipped in was sturdy and had air holes to allow the plants to breath. Each plant was very secured in the container with bamboo supports. It could have been tossed around and would likely have been completely fine. (At the time of writing I have had the plants for about 1 week) I took the plants immediately out of the shipping box and kept in full sun and watered daily. While planting I placed a little bit of evergreen fertilizer in each hole and a ring of mulch to help retain moisture in the soil. I’ve been watering daily and all the plants are alive and healthy and I believe they’ve all already started to grow. I’m thinking about buying more…

I never write reviews, but I felt it was important to this time. I thought it was a risk to buy plants through Amazon, but I went for it because I trust their customer service to protect me if a seller doesn't uphold their end of the transaction. I could not be more pleased with the condition and size of the plants I received! The root systems are very well developed, all of the plants are alive and thriving, several were so tall they were peaking through the top when I started to dismantle the packaging. If you're considering buying some young privacy trees to grow on for yourself, I had a wonderful experience with this purchase!

Update-after 1 year 70 of the 75 trees I ordered died over winter Ordered these on Feb 19th and received Feb 22 2024. All came wrapped so well. The shortest was 8 inches from soil to tip and tallest was 15 inches. I’m in zone 5a but had a break in weather so ordered to repot and keep in garage until middle of May after the last frost. All look healthy and you can’t get a better price anywhere. I’m going to be ordering another two 25 packs for the 65 trees I need. I’ll edit next year to let you know how well the do after being planted in the ground for 1 year.

This is the second time I have bought these from Daylily Nursery. I bought a batch last year of 25 and they all made it through the summer and cold winter in the Midwest except for 1. I bought another batch this spring and they all look great so far. I bought the batch this year to stagger between the spacing of the Green Giants I bought last year. I will eventually have a Green Giant Arborvitae privacy fence.

These trees arrived in very good condition, ready for planting. We were facing some below freezing weather, so I talked to the seller and they recommended keeping them in a cool place until the extreme freezing period was over so they would not be damaged by temperature shock. Once we had weather above freezing for a couple of weeks I planted these in the ground and they have been doing really well ever since then.

The description of these plants were as follows on Amazon: “ 25 Thuja Green Giant Arborvitae 8-14" tall trees”. What arrived were 25 upside down plants. Half of soul spilled. Wrote them but received no reply. Had to transplant them immediately to try and salvage my investment. The plants are no bigger than two inches MAX. They barely have a clump of roots. Some were just a bare stock with no leaves. This was a horrible rip off. There was not a single one that was 8-14 inches. They fit the description of the other descriptions of other plants this company sells which are two inch potted starter plants. Do not believe the description as advertised.

I ordered my first 25 trees, they showed up in a timely manner. The trees were wrapped in plastic and the soil was moist. It was time consuming unwrapping each tree, but I was happy they all looked healthy. My concerns were minimal; like everyone else size was exaggerated by the seller but most plants were about 6 inches. My last concern is on tree turned slightly black, but seems to be recovering. I’m not sure if a dog shared himself with the tree or not. I’ve just been keeping pictures to document activity. Last, one tree will not stand-up do to how it was grown prior to shipment.When I place my next order I would have to request the seller place a minimum on 2 extra plants to replace the two I’m having issues with.
