Pleasant Surprise
I bought this protein powder as a breakfast alternative - an ingredient for healthy smoothie to start the day and provide a good base of nutrition. It tastes good, mixes well and overall I'm satisfied. The reason for the review is the wonderful unintended consequence of using this product which is a significant reduction in the severity of my essential tremor. My left hand shakes and it has done so for quite a few years. The Doctor didn't have any solution for it, other than maybe beta blockers. It was getting progressively worse and was more annoying than anything. Can't use a screwdriver with my left hand because it's nigh impossible to get it on or keep it on the screw head. Not life threatening, just annoying. One serving of Syntha-6 reduced the tremor noticeably. And after a week or so of 1 serving in the morning, the tremor is still reduced. It's as if Syntha-6 is feeding my body and muscles something that was lacking. Without changing anything else in terms of exercise, caffeine intake, diet, the tremor reduced to the point that it feels as if I'd gone back in time 10 years or so. My hand and arm feel stronger, typing is easier and more solid. It's a nice feeling.I'm 53, healthy and relatively fit. Based on this initial experience with the product, I feel that Syntha-6 will help me stay that way and help me maintain and build muscle when I exercise. This is not a scientific experiment - it may be that other protein powders could do this - but I am pleased with the result and the feeling of strength in my hands and credit it to this product.

My go-to for whey protein
I drink a lot of protein, and as a result, have tried a lot of protein brands in the past, and this is by far my favorite brand of protein.I personally have never noticed better gains or anything like that when switching from brand to brand. They all serve their purpose. The primary differences, in my opinion, between brands are in their nutritional facts (caloric content, cholesterol, sugars, etc) and taste. Syntha-6 is fairly run of the mill when it comes to protein nutrition in that it has an average amount of calories, some cholesterol, etc, so if you're looking for a protein that is really low calories, this may not be for you. However, if you are looking for a protein that actually tastes good and doesn't make you sick to your stomach after drinking it, this is the best. I always drink protein with water, and this stuff tastes good even in water. A lot of people in the lifting community look down those who judge protein based on its taste, but if I'm drinking something in the morning, before a workout, and after a workout, it needs to be somewhat bearable. This stuff definitely fits the bill for me.I've tried both the Vanilla and Chocolate Peanut Butter. Vanilla tasted good, but was a little too sweet for me (it basically tastes like vanilla cake). Chocolate Peanut Butter is the best tasting protein I've ever had. Its taste reminds me of Reece's Puffs cereal, and again, this is when mixed with water. This stuff is awesome, and it makes me realize how spoiled I am when I have to drink ON casein protein at night (which tastes awful).

Solid protein powder!
So this stuff tastes great. Have tried the likes of other brands and can attest that the SYNTHA-6 tastes and mixes the best of any I’ve had before. The powder mixes smooth with milk or water. The chocolate peanut butter does have some tiny, hard pieces that you can see in the photo that are mixed in it but I don’t have any problem with them and they go down the hatch no problem. Has a good mix of protein per scoop and the calories are pretty consistent within the price class. Has some BCAAs as well for good measure. Overall a solid protein that has one of the best flavor and mixing profiles on the market.

Good, but not great protein.
Mixes well, tastes great, doesn't make me feel bloated or fill me up. However, this protein isn't the best in a lot of categories. It's price per serving isn't the best, it's protein per scoop isn't the highest, nor is it's BCAA's per scoop (Or as BSN calls it, EAA's). With some light research, you can easily find cheaper or equally priced protein that beats Syntha-6 in nearly every category, but that in no way makes this a bad purchase or waste of time. It isn't a protein isolate, but it's probably one of the best regular whey proteins out there. I'd recommend this to some just getting into working out or someone getting their feet wet while searching for a beginner protein, but for someone experienced or looking for a change of brands, this might not be for you. It's not going to make you gain massive amounts of muscle/weight or help you smash your bench press through the roof.-ProsTastes GreatNo bloating or fullnessMixes fairly well-ConsTends to get small clumps that basically refuse to separate in a Blender BottleIsn't the king of protein, price, or serving per scoop

Good product, excellent flavor
Coming from the cookies and creme version of this product (same size), the chocolate peanut butter has a great flavor and doesn't taste overly sugary. I mix this with a milk alternative called Silk (using milk adds lactic acid to your muscles, which causes that burning feeling after many reps) and when shaken for about a minute using 2 scoops, the product has no clumps. It's comparable to other mid level products and it's not exactly a meal replacement however, for best results always use protein supplements within 30 minutes of rigorous exercises for bigger gains. For people using this as a meal replacement, rethink your stance as diet is easily the sole factor for gains no matter how hard you work out, your body needs fuel. That being said, combine this with a sport multi vitamin and L-arginine and you've got a great combination for muscle recovery and energy support.
