Great mineral sunscreen, stick is easy to apply
I am not the world's biggest fan of mineral sunscreen. It's hard to apply, doesn't rub in well, leaves everyone looking white and ghostly, and, let's be honest, just doesn't work as well as oxybenzone, as far as actually preventing sunburns goes. But it's impossible to find a tear-free oxybenzone sunscreen for kids who don't understand not to rub their eyes with sunscreen-covered hands, especially in stick form, which is what my toddler prefers. So mineral it is, I guess. Babyganics is far and away the best kid's (tear-free) mineral sunscreen we've found. It actually rubs in decently well (my kid still looks vaguely ghostly, but not pasty white?), it is incredibly long-lasting, and it WORKS! We tried a couple of other brands (I mostly test on myself) and I burnt straight through the Water Babies mineral sunscreen in about 20 minutes; we've never gotten a sunburn with this one, even a couple of times when I felt like I really should have reapplied. My kid doesn't like rubbing goop in but will tolerate a stick (and I don't trust sprays to give full coverage - too many childhood memories of sunburns in spray-patterned splotches), and I think this goes on pretty easily if it's at all warm. Just don't get sand or grit in it!

Great for kids and moms!
We're semi-crunchy, so I wanted a sunscreen that wasn't completely full of toxins, but that wouldn't break the bank. This seemed to fit the bill. It's not the perfect sunscreen, but it's better than the other crap out there. Our first time using it was last week while my son was at Cub Scout day camp. He was outside in 90+ degree heat from 9am until 4pm. We applied it in the morning each day before arriving at camp and it worked wonderfully. The only part of my son that got a bit red was the back of his neck. But that could be because he didn't get very well back there or just because it's the most exposed part of him. But it wasn't red enough to blister or even hurt for more than a day, and he's very light skinned! I used it also for one day while i was volunteering at camp and had the same experience - the only part that got red was the back of my neck. I applied it to my face, ears, front and back of neck, and my arms. Again, no blistering or extreme pain, just red for a couple days and only on the back of my neck. Usually I'd come home with burnt ears, face, arms, etc. I'm also very light skinned. I advised my son to reapply at lunch time, but i don't know if he did or not on the days i wasn't there. We haven't used it in water, but i imagine it would definitely need reapplication during use in water, as most sunscreens (especially the more non-toxic variety) usually do.

easy to apply for squirmy babies
We love this type of sunscreen; not only is it great for protecting my baby's skin, but it is also easy to apply. Pros: -easy to apply - not scented - good sun protection -Travel-friendly (we keep one in the car, diaper bag, stroller) Cons: -sometimes, it seems to be too dry and harder to slide down the skin

My kids will only allow sunscreen sticks on their faces
I use babyganics brand sunscreen in all forms, spray, lotion and these sticks because I trust the brand, and the active ingredients are mineral based. My daughter has eczema and I became allergic to octocrylene, which is found in many sunscreens labeled waterproof, so I stick with mineral based sunscreens. The sticks make it much easier to apply sunscreen to little faces. My kids just hate the gooey stuff smeared on their faces. Looking at the content, it is also much more concentrated with active sunscreen ingredients than other forms. I still use cream or lotion based sunscreens on arms and legs etc because it's easier to cover a larger surface area with those compared to the sticks. I don't know if it's because my kids allow me to apply this more often than the cream or lotions, or because it is more concentrated, but in my experience it has been more effective in preventing sun tans. Also, it is the perfect size to stash in my purse or their backpacks for on the go reapplication without having to worry about leakage. Like all mineral based sunscreens, it will give you a white film, however I find that if you rub it in a bit and apply 15 minutes before venturing out as the label instructs, the whiteness diminishes considerably. Not completely, but a small price to pay for all the upsides. These are not cheap, and there are drug store brands (I think it was either Rite Aid or CVS) with similar quality and lower sticker prices, but they are very hard to find and not available through Amazon.

Great for kids
My kids spend a lot of time at the beach in the summer, and this sunscreen works incredibly well, without irritating their skin. I use it just on their faces. There are a few drawbacks, but more if you're planning to use it all over the body. Why I like it: - It's small, so it's very easy to carry around. I only use a little (just on the face), so it lasts me a long time. - It works really well for sun protection and lasts all day, even in the water (it's actually hard to wash off, see cons below). I never need to reapply it. - It's more natural than other sunscreens. My kids have allergies and sensitive skin, and this doesn't bother them at all. Cons - It's hard to spread around. The best thing to do is just apply it with the stick and leave it that way. - It's hard to wash off, but this is also why it works. The best way to get it off is to rub it with a cloth or towel, but a little remnant doesn't bother my kids so I just leave it. - It's very white and visible when you apply it. My kids are young and don't care. I imagine teenagers or adults might not like that.

No contiene ningún químico peligroso. Lo malo es que es muy gruesa la capa que forma en la piel y desvanecerla puede ser difícil y hasta doloroso.
