How to actually knit, purl etc. was clear, clearly showing where to exactly put a needle in relation to the other and which direction the wool should be positioned to the needle. If you are learning visually (which you do with knitting) then the basics are important. YouTube videos can be OK but teaching someone to knit, especially a young child, you need to take your time with them and some videos are too quick and trying to stop them at the right place, to show what someone learning needs to know, causes a child to 'switch off' while you're trying to teach them. Pictures are permanent, videos move on.

Lovely book, loads of illustrations and explanations are very good. I would definitely recommend it to others!

Got this for my 21 Yr old granddaughter as she's taken to knitting and loves it. This book has helped her enormously.

It might be a complete beginners guide but I still couldn’t make sense of some of it.

I paid £12 for this book including delivery. When I received it there was a price sticker on it for £3. Think I was overcharged somehow.
