Kombucha!: The Amazing Probiotic Tea that Cleanses, Heals, Energizes, and Detoxifies

Just received today, & I'm fairly new to this. I tried this years ago, & back then (probably about 1993-1994-ish) I don't think there was much info out there on how to flavor it, what all the health benefits are, etc...I had no idea that you could flavor the tea or cook with the tea &/or SCOBY. When I ran across the SCOBY's on Amazon by "accident" I decided to try this again. I have 1 SCOBY fermenting-on day 7 right now, & then ran across this book the other day. It is a really great book-I am like the other reviewer Erin S. as I like to know why something is done a certain way/how things work, & this explains everything from how the fermenting process works, to what you need to get started as well as moving on to more advanced fermenting/flavoring/making it an alcoholic yummy, lots of recipes too. It's not boring at all, in fact I am already on chapter 6, & I just started reading tonite. It's a very, very easy read, funny & super informative! I don't think I need any other book to learn about making this tea--love this book!! I'm glad I ran across it. I will also be checking out the author's website to order some supplies as I get into more advanced brewing. Get this book especially if you're just starting out like me---you won't be sorry!

Great writing! He uses a sense of humor and makes the science of brewing approachable. It includes tons of relevant info, fun recipes, and ways to use kombucha that I never considered the. He explained how my previous batch went wrong! Now i feel like a pro. Saving so much money—going from $3-4 per bottle to $.50 per bottle. A go-to for all new ‘botch home brewers.

I will admit upfront I'm not fully endorsing the broad health claims made here, but for understandable, fun, and encouraging directions to brew Kombucha, this is the best guide I've found.

Wonderful book for me as a clueless newbie with great information and easy to understand step by step instructions. If you're an already experienced brewer this book can help you take it up a notch with some new recipes and brews. There are some really great recipes and ideas and some surprising things you wouldn't have thought of in here!

Supplement this book with others since this is so silly, with pictures that are comic book, super hero style! Some people might like this. And the writing style is for kids! The instructional info in it could fill about 1/4 of the book, not including the recipes. It was helpful, but if I took it out of the library, I could have just photo copied the relevant pages, since there are only a few. The couple who wrote the book along with the company they have are awesome, however! I have emailed them questions that are not covered in the book and received much more comprensive answers.

Great book; great shape, and arrived quickly. Fun to read with lots of good information. Very informational and easy to understand. I learned a ton from it, and it had lists of good resources and recipes in it as well. Highly recommend for a beginner that wants to understand what the what, how, and why of brewing.

I read this book cover to cover while I was brewing my first batch of Kombucha. I could not put it down! It was fascinating, full of interesting details and geeky tips. A very funny, entertaining and easy read for someone like me, who likes to learn WHY rather than just HOW to do something. I am hooked!

I'd call this book 50 Ways to Love your Scoby! So many recipes for using your scoby as it grows and needs to be divided. Full of detailed information on brewing, bottling and using Kombucha Tea. I'm impressed. This book is packed full of good things.

This book is all you need! Knowledgeable, funny and interesting! I read many kombucha books but this is hands down the best one!

Great book. Helped a lot with the whole fermentation process, and teas, and utensils. Great help! And there are recips as well.
