Love this movie clapper! We use it at our watch parties for our American dream TV episodes. It is fabulous for everyone to hold in front of our backdrop. It’s a perfect size and it’s really nice quality. The marker that comes with it works well. Great value!

I’d recommend this to anyone who’s going to use this for filming. Yes it comes with a marker but the eraser DOES NOT erase the marker, BUT using wipes does remove it. AND using chalk works so if you ever run out of the marker you can use chalk instead. Very sturdy, paint is good, has a very nice clapping sound and would recommend for anyone.

I like the blackness of the color, is really deep and also the white is truly white, the surface is very easy to write on and cleaning is a breeze. It comes with an erasable white pen, which is very easy to clean with a wet cloth, no residue is left whatsoever. I haven't used chalk on it, so I can't tell is it's easy to erase too. One thing I really like is the fact that the back of it is all black and you can write and eras as well, so that gives you a blank black board for other purposes not just as a cinema clapper. The hinge on it works very smooth, a gentle push/pull will close/open it but is strong enough to hold the weight of the upper part very well. I got this as a photography prop, so to me, the finish quality is very important and because of that I give it a 4 star, there are a few things that could be better in that area, you can see the pictures where the wood is not smooth, but it doesn't affect unless your doing macro photography. But again, this is just because I use for professional photography. Overall the clapper works and looks great if you want it to use it for it's true purpose or as a party or photo prop it works wonder and at a very good price.

I end up always needing a cleaning spray of some sort to clean the chalk marker off of the board. I really didn't need to find this out when on a shoot, ended up using spit because that's all I had. I can't hand this thing to anyone when I have spat all over it in order to update the markings. Now I have to carry a spray with me, another piece of equipment to track, thumbs down in that regard. It also is hard to "clack" one handed, which I have to do from time to time. For the money though, you get what you pay for, it's not a complete waste of money.
