I’m writing this review three years after the original install - I thought our outlet had finally failed as it wasn’t popping up smoothly so started looking for a replacement. We’ve been very happy with the performance and looks. After closer inspection, I found there was nothing wrong with it and some crumbs had got behind the rear edge of the lid and was blocking the pop-up motion. After a little cleaning with a toothpick all is good again.

Need a good amount of room for it to close and open properly but once in it looks and function great. I installed in my new island on the countertop

The outlet works but the construction is cheep. The latching mechanism must be held open while opening or closing the plug so that it does not snag it mid way. Also, after 1 year in our outdoor kitchen the metal finish is pitted and dull. Also, the GFI is no longer functioning after one year.

I used this on an outdoor cooking island. My island is covered so not directly exposed to the elements. Mine did come with a seal. The mounting box or junction box that came with it was generic. You have to figure out your own way to mount it. I had to drill holes in the side and provide support from the bottom to make sure it wasn’t going to move. The box is also not a “flush Mount” type box. It needs to be mounted about 1” to 1-1/4” below the finish surface as the receptacle is deep. I had difficulty getting the mounting screws started, only to figure out they were hitting the protective plastic underneath. After trimming about 1/4” off each side with scissors the mounting screws easily started. Overall I’m happy with it’s functionality.

Solid device. Well designed enclosure and the finish looks good, however after I installed it the socket was in tripped mode and couldn't reset. Re-checked my wiring and other sockets were fine. Wired in a different GFI plug and it was fine so the GFI plug with this box came faulty.
