Best non-robotic litter box Ever
I wanted to try this, so I got my first one from someone on Marketplace, gently used, for half price. I, the high-peeing tomcat, and the other kitties loved it so much, I bought a brand new one here. I did get extra liners and odor-absorbing packets. After using these about 6 months, I've come to the conclusion that this is how all litter boxes should be made, with high sides and a hinged folding top, at the actual top. So much easier to do a thorough scoop on the daily when you don't have to remove a big old lid with clips. The high sides, and higher than usual opening keep litter from being kicked out. As long as the litter is kept at a low height, the big tomcat doesn't pee out the sides. The liners ( and having and extra for each box) make it easy to do a full clean and change out of litter. The liners are made like waterproof tarps that fit the box and have grommets at the top that slip over the holders . The box stays pretty clean and only the liners need taken outside and washed. Yes, they're reusable. After washing and drying, I spray the insides with silicone spray and let dry. Hoping that increases the longevity of the liners.I highly recommend getting extra odor packets. I numbered mine with a sharpie, so I don't mix up which is the used and which is fresh. Lol . You can refresh and reuse the odor packets by placing them outside in the sun for a few hours. The included scoop hangs easily on either side of the box. I didn't think I'd use the included scoop, but it's so handy, the old scoops are collecting dust now. When first using the box, I left the lid half open (easy to do) to get the cats acclimated. They had no problems and took to this box immediately.I would highly recommend this litter box also to those who have kids doing the scooping, since it's much easier to open the lid, AND easier for you to check that they did it.This litter box is incredibly expensive, yes, but it makes life with cats easier, and seems like it will last forever, maybe needing only a liner replacement. Someone's review mentioned using the box without the liner... I think that's not a great idea, because the box will get scratched up and hard to clean. That defeats the purpose of having a sturdy liner. The liners are great - they're coated, waterproof tarps made to fit the box. They hang easily in the box and are easy to clean. Easy to pop in a clean one while you're cleaning the old one. Not sure why anyone would pay $100 for for a litter box and not use the liner.Lastly, this box has worked so well for me, I actually gifted a new one to a close family member. A really weird gift, yes, but I know they can't afford it and it will make their life a tad easier. :)

Excellent … One suggestion—
This has (almost) completely cured the curse of the spray from my cat who refuses to squat and aim when going #1 to the litter box. On top of this, he is extremely picky with his litter boxes and has rejected many tests previous to this. Was a bit hesitant at the price but this has been a great investment. Size and quality are great and the box was easy to set up. My cat has been able to do his business with sufficient room, and I think we can notice the difference in his comfort. The one thing that is a minor annoyance is that the tarp liner may shift and we have noticed urine may sometimes trap depending on how the cat enters and uses the box. I’ve been left wondering if a rubber seal that fits snug along the U-shape entrance may help keep the tarp and box together …

Nice and tall!! Perfect!
Awesome!! My cat stands and does his business and this is the only box tall enough that keeps his pee from going over the side! I highly recommend this and very easy to clean as one just pulls the ‘bag’ out!! I tried SO many litter boxes and wasted so much money so I wish I would have found this sooner. Very sturdy and totally worth the price! Love it!!

Best litter box I’ve used!
My cat pees up the side of his boxes and it always came out. But with this box I never have that problem with the tall sides. Easy to clean kinda spendy and wish it came with an extra liner but otherwise a great litter box.

The liners are not built to last and barely fit on the hooks
Cats seem to be okay with it. Do I think this is worth $100 ? Not really. I feel like I could have made my own with a storage container. The liners are not built to last. They will need to be replaced after a while. The ringlets did rip off after 6 weeks of use. They barely fit on the hooks to begin with.

Very sturdy!
This one is by far the most solid feeling litter box I’ve bought and I’ve had several different kinds and brands in the past two years trying to find something that my finicky cat would accept. The one box I kept going back to every time my cat decided she didn’t like a new litter box was that blue Vanness XL litterbox, I really liked the size and how tall the entrance is as my cat always pees facing the front and tends to pee on my bed or couch if she feels the litter box is too dirty with smaller boxes. The ModKat box takes up an almost exact amount of space but is actually slightly larger on the inside, not to mention it is a far nicer looking in its simplicity and far easier to clean daily with its foldable top- great if you’re in a very small space like me. In order to clean the blue box the top needs to be removed completely which meant putting it on my ottoman or couch to prevent my dogs stealing and destroying the filter sponges. The entrance is just a smidge lower on the ModKat than the blue one, but hardly noticeable.I am not a litter box liner fan, I did try it on just to see how it would sit and didn’t like how it sagged on the sides. I can imagine that my cat would easily destroy it as she spends a good few minutes scratching and pawing at the sides after using the box. I also don’t see how it would make it easier to clean, there are no handles to lift it out so if you’re using heavy clay litter it could slip out of your grasp. You’d have to wash it and dry it the same as you would with the litter box itself if you weren’t using a liner. The two things I don’t like are those little raised sides right at the corner (I’m hoping it doesn’t make those spots harder to get the clumping litter out of) and that it didn’t have a more protective packaging. For as much as it costs it would suck to have it be crushed or broken during delivery.Bonus: if you have a litter genie the ModKat scoop is works better than the one that comes with the genie and it fits in the basket well enough. All that said I still think it’s overpriced at over $100 once you’ve added up taxes, I bought mine while on sale and it still was almost $97. For comparison the blue one is a bit over $20 plus tax.
