1:18 Illumibox acrylic black base display case, w/ LED lights

I used the USB adapter for power, everything works and it looks fantastic. I did add rubber feet to prevent the case from moving when I push the power button.

This is a great looking case overall and for the money. It's super easy to put together and can run off of 4 AA batteries or a cord, the batteries were a big thing for me so I didn't have to hide a cord. The two things that I didn't like were the injection mold spot on the top (it really does take away from an otherwise awesome product), and I wish the base was lined with something (I'm going to wrap it). Overall all though I'm really happy with it and will buy another.

So I had a moment when this came in. I didn't pay attentioin to the dimensions (late night shopping will do that to ya) & saw the little bug (car) in the picture and thought it was perfect size for the match box car I just got my hubby. It was a surprise for him for his birthday, but when this came in & it was HUGE...kinda couldn't hide it from him. So it has become a joke! But to make good use of it even though it is WAY bigger than what is needed, he wants to get old hot wheel tracks to put in it to make a little scene for his 1976 Speed Racer car. So he is happy and that is all that matters! Oh the lights are bright! This is an awesome case!

This display case is fantastic. The lights really make your model look great. The lights run on batteries or a micro usb. The stadium lighting simply plugs into the base and is positional. Definitely will be buying another one for another model.

After spending $190 on one of the most detailed Dodge Vipers 1/18 scale models out there, I sure as heck wanted something to display it in and keep it safe. After Googling for a bit and looking at reviews, this Illumibox seemed worth taking a chance on. I admit upon receiving and unboxing I was pleasantly surprised! The LED light posts are firmly inserted and stay in place, not flimsy like I was expecting. Even with batteries they are almost too bright, but I would rather have that then too dim, so no points taken off there. The Viper fit perfectly and looks great inside it. The ONLY reason I knocked a star off is because they package the arcylic cover in a plastic bag, and as such it was prone to some slight markings/marring during shipping. Not enough to warrant sending it back, but I feel like if Illumibox would wrap the acrylic cover in that thin, foam padding it would be that extra little bit to ensure a crystal-clear cover when you get it. I would definitely buy another.

This fit my 1:18 Scale Tesla Model Y perfectly, there are 4 light poles that you can install, you do not need to install all of them, they plug into a metal receptacle on the plastic base corners. You can put batteries in or use the included USB cable, if you get more than one of these you could plug these into one of those very inexpensive USB-A hubs you get at a trade show for free then to an outlet. I use the USB A connection. The cover is clear plastic there is a small mold mark on the top in the center that is not too noticeable. If you are putting this on anything you do not want to scratch you will need to put some felt feet on this, it does not come with them, which is disappointing. Other than that it is the only thing out there like this, you can put just about anything in here that you can secure, I put bumpers on either side of the back wheel to keep the model in place.

Good case for the price, it's exactly as you'd expect - nothing fancy here. Everything is pretty cheap plastic, with what appears to be a clear acrylic dome. The standard micro USB power cord and connection was a make it or break it feature for me, since I wanted it to be wall-powered at the flick of a switch, and sure enough that didn't disappoint. Batteries are an option as well. The only issue I had with this product (that wasn't the case's fault itself) was that the LEDs used are an icy white - they have a bluish tinge. All my other display case lights are warm white, so this case didn't match at all. As such, I went ahead and disassembled the light poles to solder new warm white LEDs in - the poles are just held in by a few cover tabs and screws, after which the 5mm LEDs can easily be pulled out of their chrome bezels. If you're familiar with basic soldering and DIY jobs then this product will be a piece of cake to modify with any color LEDs you'd like. (Before and after photos are attached of the original icy bluish case lights and my modified warm white LEDs).

I purchased this for my 1:18 scale, 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.... it fits perfectly..... if anyone's wondering for car size, my car is 11-1/4 inchs long... I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to make sure there car is dust free.... as for the condition of the display case, I reseved it with no scratches and all 4 display lights work.... i also recommend getting it put in a box for added protection well being shipped, if you have that option....I recommend this.. 10 thumbs 👍
