Nikon Microfiber Cleaning Cloth: handy, and does the job...
This Nikon Microfiber Cleaning Cloth is a good example of a handy product that belongs in the camera bag (or on the camera strap) of anyone who has a camera and wants to keep its LCD clean. It's small and unobtrusive enough to just clip it to your camera strap, keeping it handy for the event that your viewing screen of your camera needs a simple cleaning. These can be found under a number of brand names, including as the Spudz Microfiber Cloth in Black Pouch , but each will do the job. It has its own little clip-on pouch for storage, which keeps the microfiber cloth relatively clean. It's perfect for whipping out and cleaning off residual dust or even rain spots from the viewing screen of just about any digital camera made. It works in the field with binoculars or eyeglasses as well. From personal experience, I might suggest using the Nikon 7072 Lens Pen or one of the LensPen products on the lens itself, and using this cloth on the LCD itself. When it gets dirty or seems to lose its effectiveness, just throw it into the washing machine, then hang it up to dry, and the microfiber cloth is ready to be used again. Have a spare one that stays in my pocket just to clean my glasses, and though the case is now a bit fades from repeated washing, it's still a highly-effective cleaning cloth... perfect for the task at hand. Used in conjunction with the Nikon Lens Pen or the LensPen NLP-1 you'll have the perfect combination for keeping the residual grime off of your camera, regardless of the brand or model. Highly recommended, and it's good if you have a basic digital compact or an advanced DSLR. It also makes a good gift for any photographer.

Small, but functional for filter cleaning job
This is not for cleaning large face $2000 lenses! If you are looking for the fabric hanging from your panties while cruising around in Europe and would be cleaning your $100-200 Hoya and B&H filters every 10-15 minutes, you ahve been arriving at the right place and this is the right stuff. Again, I am a picky lens-cleaner sort of guy, using f/2.8 FX Nikkor lenses, who would like to be using brushes, pens, Air blower, clean and large cloths and all those kinda stuffs in dust-free rooms. Apparently, this product is a small and nice piece of microfiber fabric (barely you can reach the effective expansion of 4"x 5") designed delicately to put back into a tiny black bag decorated with Nikon logos on both sides, but as always you are gonna be impressed with Nikon quality even on this little/made-in-China thing. I highly recommend this product to my pro & picky friends who want to maintain & apply Nikon/Zeiss quality on their stuffs.

Nikon microfiber cleaning cloth
I know this is a very simple item that doesn't seem to need a review, but there are a few things you may or may not have thought of that are worth discussing. First, As far as appearance, the item is well made and thought out with a nice clean logo. If you would rather one that doesn't have the Nikon logo on it there is an identical item made whose only difference is an all black cover. The clip on the cover is well made and seems sturdy enough to do its job without issue or breakage. The cloth itself is of adequate size and a light grey color. The light color is necessary to ensure there isn't any debris lodged in the fabric that could scratch the focus screen or sensor inside the camera or the glass of your not so cheap lenses. I bring this up because it happened to me about a year ago. I had a charcoal grey cloth that I used to clean my equipment. One day while cleaning dust out of the inside of my D90, I did not see a tiny piece of plastic (about the size of a grain of sand) that was lodged in the fabric. Before I realized it was there, the focus screen had four or five scratches across it where some of the plastic transferred over. Luckily, I had not started cleaning the sensor yet or the camera would be almost worthless. The cover on this item is well made and proper size. You don't need to be proficient in origami to reinsert the cloth either which is a plus. Overall, the item is well made and performs its function as expected without issue. Because of the clip, it is a lot more convenient and handy than a cloth that is somewhere in your camera bag or is in your pocket with various other items that would contaminate it.

Good Enough with some things to consider.
I am a working photographer with 5 years experience. What can I say. It is a cloth for your lenses, nothing super special about it. It had a lot of lint/dust on it from the factory but a couple shakes and it works as promised. It has a little clip for connecting to you camera strap, and I see other pro photographers use it that way, just like the similar clip-on memory pouches, so it is there when you need it.VERY HANDY, but the little clip is "seriously" lame plastic and flimsy, if you clip it to your strap or camera then you will likely lose it in no time if you are anything like me. Also the bottom is still open when you fold the cloth back into the pouch so there is potential to get dirt or dust inside the pouch if you are not careful, so shake it off real good before you use it or you could scratch your lens filter. I will not use this to clean the lens glass, this cloth is more for field use. I just use this cloth for smudges on my UV filter/Lens Protector usually cause by my finger slips. Clean your lens in a dust free environment. I will use a large more sanitary cloth for the actual lens glass. If you got your lenses as part of a DSLR instore promotion kit and your just shoot occasionally, like family stuff and trips then this is really all you need to clean your lens glass and filters. Just keep it clean and put away till you need it. If you have a lot of expenses lenses then you don't need my advice. I have been using it every other day or so though keeping it in my camera bag till I happen across a sturdier clip from a piece of camping equipment or something. If you are considering this product then also consider the Nikon Lens Pen and the Giottos Large Rocket Blaster. Together all 3 of these products have you covered, all are a good value, they are really dependable, I use them all the time and no major complaints. Now go shoot.... well knock the dust off your sensor and clean your lens first.

Great thing for binoculars
I have had these on my binoculars for about 2 years now and I love them. These work very well and hasn’t left any scratches on anything. The cloth tucks away and it does not come out.

What a great idea. Simply Brilliant!
I seem to have become a collector of microfiber cloths, as they disappear moments after I use them the first time. Then I need to order more...so on and so forth. Hum, why do I think many of you know exactly what I am talking about?! ;-) If I do manage to find a cloth, it has usually been stuffed in a pocket for days, and who knows what is on it...surely nothing I want to touch my Nikon camera lens with! This Nikon cloth is the answer to all my issues as it actually comes in it's own case. You pull the cloth out, clean the lens, and then push the microfiber back into its little case. Not only that, but the cloth has a clip on it, allowing you to hang it on anything. I hung mine on my Nikon, so I will always have a clean microfiber cloth with me the instant I need it. What a great idea! I will be buying a few more. Worth every cent in my case.

Great Companion Tool
I got this cleaning cloth along with the Nikon 7072 Lens Pen Cleaning System and I have to say it is a perfect match. The pen while nice with the brush end to get rid of fine particles, the cloth end seems to just wipe the smudges all around the lens. I would say get both, but perhaps that's just justification for my own purchase. But after brushing the lens and then trying to clean it with the pen cloth end, I had to goto this Microfiber cloth to really get the junk off my lens. Perhaps just get a really good brush and then this. Also, it is really nice to be able to clip this tool onto my camera strap so that I have it at the ready at all times, but since I only just got the camera, we'll see how long I keep that strap on for. All in all it is a get tool and you feel like a magician when you stuff it back into it's carry pouch.

difficult to keep clean
bought to keep hanging on and to my camera. Its a great Idea that went a inch; when it should have gone the full foot. My thought on seeing this item you would pull the cloth out of its case the retract it by pulling on the attached twine. Thusly making the cleaner easy to keep clean and oil free. But it does not easily retract back into its case. Thus. Requiring you to forcefully handle the cloth back into the tiny case. Thusly depositing any oils, sweat, debris onto the cloth. Its a good idea, but I do not wont to purchase this item over and over. Nikon if there was a way to pull the cloth back into its tiny case. Then it would be a complete winner.
