This unit excellent, but QC issues on second order.
I ordered two of these last spring. The first one was perfect and is serving me well in the room with 4 litter boxes. Whenever I scoop the boxes the machine, really does detect the activity and the extra dust in the air and amps up to a faster speed to clear the dust. Even though it’s in this one room, it has really helped the ground floor of my 2 story home become less dusty. And in most modes it is quiet enough that my cats actually like it and like to lie down in front of it. Strange, but I’m glad they like it. The feature sets are listed so I won’t go into those but everything works well. I don’t use any night mode, though, so I can’t speak to that. I just run it on auto and once in awhile use the ionizing cleaning. Much to my relief, there have been no weird burning plastic odors as reported with some other brands in the 8 or 9 months I’ve been running it. I did get a separate warranty registration in the mail because apparently one was omitted in the shipment sent to me. I found that interesting. I do wish I had registered within the prescribed period of time, but I’d put it aside while I dealt with other things and just let it go. The downside is that the replacement filter looks really expensive at $69. It’s an excellent quality though, and likely lasts longer than cheaper ones. Okay now here is where it gets weird for me. I decided I liked this filter so much that I would order one for our master bedroom, which is pretty large. And the unit arrived. But to my distress, it was put together weird. Seams were crooked and there was a lot of rattling noises inside. It didn’t look like it had been damaged in transit. It just apparently went through a very bad day on the assembly line. I turned it on and it ran. But the rattling noise was disconcerting. Basically it was horribly defective and not usable. And I was going to contact the sellers but then I noticed something odd in that apparently my order was still on its way. I was so confused. My name and address was on the box I had just received but the tracking number was different. And then my mother-in-law fell ill and we had to drop everything to take care of her. Meanwhile, as I’m on the way to take care of her, ANOTHER unit arrived to my house. I checked my Amazon account and only one second order is on record. And this third unit was the one. I have no idea why I was randomly sent a completely busted up unit. But I dragged this third one in and it sat in my foyer for a couple of weeks while I dealt with my family crisis. I would have assumed perhaps the sellers realized they made a mistake sending out a damaged unit and sent a good one, except there is no record with Amazon for that busted up one. Finally, I got a free moment from hospital vigils, so I pulled this third one out and externally it looked okay but internally it had something loose and rattled badly, too. So I set it aside intending to try and get all of this straightened out with the seller. But my mother-in-law got pneumonia and passed away. In dealing with the hospital vigils and her funeral, we didn’t have the time or the energy to deal with this. So all these months I’ve had two broken units in my bedroom. I just said the heck with it and ordered a Dyson for the bedroom during a massive sale. Meanwhile my original is serving us very well in the cat litter box room. I’m way past the time to register for warranties or get warranty service on the defunct units. I will just keep the broken extras for parts for the good one. So, basically it’s 5 stars for the absolutely fantastic working unit. But with a caution to do a quality control check when your air cleaner arrived and register your machines for warranties.

A defined difference in the air quality
I bought this Medify MA-40 2.0 Medical Grade Filtration H13, True HEPA Air purifier during the 2020 Corona Virus pandemic. We have 2 large dogs, a kid who is back from college early due to the pandemic and my wife is a nurse at a local hospital. But it was not only those items that pushed me in this direction. I always change the furnace filter regularly. The first floor of the house has carpeting in only one room. The second floor is mostly carpeted except for the master bedroom which has an area rug that extends out a little beyond the bed. It was when I was in the hallway one morning and our sons bedroom door was open, and so were the curtains. The sun was shining in. As I looked towards that window, in the suns rays, I was astonished to see all the airborne particles/dust/or whatever. It just did not spell healthy air inside my home as far as I was concerned. I can tell you that at that point, for me, that Corona Virus Pandemic or not, I didn't like what I was seeing at all and I was going to do something about it. I kept thinking how it seems like every winter, that winter cough seems to stick around, once it starts, for the rest of the heating season. So I started looking on line. I saw several different manufacturers and models on line. There were lower cost models and there were higher cost models as well. for myself, I determined this was the one that I wanted to try. So I cannot tell you whether this model is just right, overkill or insufficient but I can tell you this. I first started it up and ran it on the first floor after I opened the package when I came home from work. Within a couple hours, I felt that I could tell a difference. I asked my wife what she thought. She was a little on the fence about it but felt a little something different. That night, when we went to bed, I took it upstairs and ran it in the hallway (leaving all of the bedroom doors open. The next morning, I left it in the upstairs hall when I left for work. When I got home, and headed up the stairs, there was a defined point at which the air quality was so noticeably different. Again I asked my wife if she noticed the difference. This time, there was no hesitation. She agreed that it was definitely better air quality upstairs. So you may be thinking is this guy going to order a second one so that he has one on both floors. I would like to, but I am going to save for it. I might even try one of the lower cost ($99) models I had seen just to see if spending that extra money is worth it. Sound - So I do not operate it at the highest fan level, in part, due to the sound. The level that I have it is the lowest level you can have and have the ionizer on the system working at the same time. So the whisper mode, I cannot comment on because I don't use it. I could see it still being a little loud for some people though. My wife commented that she had woken up during that first night and she thought the sound was the water running. Recommendation: At this point, I can say that this thing really has made a difference, I feel difference breathing, already coughing less, and I am not compromised in any way so I have no reason not to recommend it. If I end up buying a lower cost unit and it works as well, I will try to update. Maintenance - Filter replacement cost does look pretty high (I think I saw $69 for the filter). It will be interesting to see how often I find that it needs to be replaced. Unless the lower cost model does an equally good job I will bite the bullet and replace the filters I hope this helps if you are considering buying one! Good luck on your decision

Remove plastic from the filter that came with machine prior to use
I purchased my Medify Air 14 in May 2020. I have severe lung disease and wanted to improve the quality of my indoor air. The reviews were good and the price was right. I did read the instructions. I set up my machine and began to run it 24/7. I did not notice a difference. Since May I have had two flare-ups of my illness requiring Prednisone treatment. I still continued to use the machine. I noticed at one point a hot smell coming from the machine. So I switched to the second unit. After a few weeks it too developed a hot smell which eventually went away. Last week the change filter light came on. So I ordered a new filter from Amazon and received it the next day. Imagine my surprise when I opened the machine to change the filter and found the filter inside the machine enclosed in a plastic bag. So all the time I had been using the units the dirty air was simply being redistributed back into the room and I was breathing it. I called customer service to get help with turning the filter light off and explained what happened. They said it explains in the manual to remove the plastic. I explained I thought they meant on the replacement filters. A removable sticker on the outside of the machine explaining to remove plastic from filter inside machine prior to use would have made all the difference. It would have prevented two flare-ups and possible damage to the machines. I could not get through to anyone in management at their company to explain this. Since I removed the plastic from the filter I am amazed at the difference in my room air. I do think this is a very good product. But I am not happy with my initial experience.

A Game-Changer for Indoor Breathing
If you are tired of waking up with a stuffy nose or constantly dusting your furniture, this unit is an absolute lifesaver. Right out of the box, it feels incredibly solid, and the sleek glass top gives it a premium look that fits right into any living room or large bedroom. What really sets it apart is the medical-grade filtration system. Within just an hour of turning it on, the heavy, stale feeling in the air completely vanishes. It tackles stubborn pet odors, kitchen smoke, and floating dust bunnies like a champ. The touch controls are highly responsive, and the built-in child lock prevents curious toddlers from messing with your settings. When it is time for bed, the sleep mode is a dream. It shuts off all the bright panel lights and drops to a whisper-quiet hum that actually doubles as a soothing white noise maker. While the higher speeds can get a bit loud, that is just proof of how much air this machine is moving. It is an investment, and you do have to budget for swapping out the filters twice a year. However, for the sheer relief of breathing genuinely clean, crisp air every day, it is worth every single penny.

Quiet, Powerful, and a Huge Difference for Allergies
I bought the Medify MA-14 Air Purifier for my bedroom, and it’s the perfect size for the space. It’s incredibly quiet at night. I actually had to triple check to make sure it was running. Setup was very easy and straightforward. One important tip: don’t forget to remove the plastic wrap from the filter before using it. It’s easy to access from the bottom of the unit. This purifier does an excellent job cleaning the air and eliminating odors. I used to wake up to a lingering smell in the room (possibly from the humidifier), but since using this unit, the air feels noticeably fresher and cleaner. It keeps the room smelling good without being overpowering. Just clean, fresh air. I also own the larger Medify unit for my living and dining room, and it works just as well. My kids have allergies to cats and dogs, and this has helped them so much. We didn’t have to consider getting rid of our pets, which means everything to us. I honestly wish I had bought one sooner. Highly recommend!

Easy setup stylish and working as expected
I use this purifier for my living room which basically includes my shoes and where my cats litter box is, the kitchen and my TV and computer setup wheee I have a desk for plants, for my gaming, and for my work, so three areas. I also have a TV my cat sleeps on. I’m not an expert in purifiers but I know that this product does a good job at least in purifying the side which my shoes and litter are not on, leaving me free to feel good about being there and not spending too much time in my room now. It’s been such a huge benefit. Now, as the shoes and cat litter are on the side on the kitchen, I actually place on of the purifiers side facing the litter and shoes and feel more comfortable doing more cooking in the kitchen. I notice less smell after cooking, basically pure air the next day. Disclaimer, I do use an air fryer so it greatly limits smell. I bought a Honeywell purifier for my room which is about 100 to 130 SF. The living space is probably a total of 400 SF and I estimate this actually purifies 75-100% of the space. Therefore I must say there is a chance that you get what you pay for in this product, in terms of circulated purified air flow. The quality based on filters is indeed top tier. This purifies more air than a Dyson which hardly has any air it actually takes in and purifies. This is because this purifier in particular has two sides of filters that are bringing in more air than the purifier above which is pushing clean air out. Unfortunately there isn’t necessarily circulation but I assume the upward flow naturally makes its way around the living room. However, it’s quite obvious with the design there is a lot of nice clean air circulating. I feel much more comfortable in my living room and really look forward to blasting this baby to do my gaming in the other corner, and I am looking forward to working at my standing desk every morning as well. I can say that I don’t need to open the door to let clean air at all. I think it’s a great investment at least in terms of design, clean air flow and power, but I am not sure about how much square footage it covers. I would imagine there has to be a premium for the design and higher quality filters, and 4 different levels of power. There is also a very pleasant sound when turning it on and off, and it looks quite modern as well, complementing the space right at the front door, so it cleans the air of the litter, shoes and kitchen.

Very effective air purifier
We are very happy with this machine. It seems well-built, and is somewhat large and heavy, but not unmanageable, having wheels on the bottom. This can be handy, as the noise level on level 4 might make you want to move it around some to find the best balance between air circulation and noise. It is quiet at levels 1 and 2 (at level 1, I measured 24 dBA at 5 feet and 22 dBA at 10 feet) , reasonable at level 3, but somewhat loud at level 4 (54 dBA at 5 feet and 43 dBA at 10 feet. Our refrigerator is about 34 at 5 feet) We have had a large amount of smoke in central Texas for a couple of months, due to both agricultural burning and wildfires in southern Mexico and Central America. The outside PM 2.5 has been hovering around 100, but occasionally spiking to over 150. Due to having a person with impaired pulmonary function in the house, we monitor both outside and inside air quality. We have had a much smaller air purifier in our bedroom, and we have verified that it works in that room, but it does nothing for the rest of the house, which is over 3,400 square feet with high ceilings in every room. Our inside monitor has generally been about 70% to 90% of the outside reading, with the ratio being higher when the wind is blowing hard and forcing smoky air through the house. When I first turned this on, the inside level dropped within minutes from 80% to 40% of the outside AQI. If we run this new unit on high, we can generally keep the inside AQI to a range of 20% to 40% of outside AQI. The machine is loud on level 4, so it cannot be used at that level in the bedroom, and even level 3 would probably be wearing after an hour or so. So, we use the device in the great room, which is quite large, with ridiculously high ceilings. This substantially improves the air quality in the bedroom as well, but this is definitely dependent on wind velocity. When the outside AQI is high and the wind is blowing hard outside, and we are not in the great room, we run the machine on level 4. This afternoon, with moderately high wind and outside AQI at 120, we were at 54 inside, while running the new machine at level 1. We increased it to level 4 about 20 minutes ago, and the inside reading is now 36 and heading downward.

It works! Not just works But actually works great bought another best unit's ever
Please see additional comments on other registered model the MA 14, for which I purchased (on sale ) a 4 pack of filters and than a 2 pack (for one ma 14 unit dual filter . These are great products. Better than the $1200 model I purchased with UV and only true heppa.(not heppa 13)These do what they say and are great. can in needed run so quiet can barley be heard. I change filter on the ma 14 every month as Its in a room with an asthmatic with COPD so want the cleanest air I can get. Other is in the bedroom. Our unit is 4500 SQ feet or less MAX 500 min 400 Office doesn't even know. But for summer I am getting an MA 40 for the main room, than separate the units out more. They are great. So much less dust, and for me no more constant runny nose and medication. Including mold growth on a cup in hiding w/liquid left. This no longer an issue. Thank you Mediry Air. 10/10 All the way. Oh also place one in our bathroom as the fan doesn't work. We don't run it when bathing or showering, just for odor's as I noticed hospitals were doing this for the same reason. WORKS GREAT! Hooked it up to the fan plug, plus just turn it on when doing anything other than showering or hi moisture production. That model was a an MA 15 gift. Love it. Original filter in it still going, but have replacements for a year for all on standby. can't live without. In pour unit the windows do not open. Only the bedroom, but were downtown and the dust, exhaust, pollution and sand is horrific. There's a door to the patio in the living room if we need fresh air and building has "fresh air exchange" So these filters are instrumental in keeping our air fresh and healthy. Keep on coming out with great products. I used the older ma14 filter over the Air conditioner intake and seal it well. Bought a 2 pack just for that. Great fresh air all around because of Medefy.

Cuts back on litter smell - I'm happy!
First, I'd like to say that the instruction manual does say to remove the packaging on the filter. Maybe they updated the manual but I didn't have issues with these instructions being clear. I purchased this air purifier because I have two cats who use a litter box in a room right off my kitchen. You can imagine the effect is not always pleasant. Now that's it's a hot, humid time of year my main floor runs the risk of smelling funky. With the air filter running in the room with the cat litter, I no longer smell anything unless the cats had JUST used the litter. This means it's successfully odor free 95% of the time. Works for me. 🙂
