Because I wanted to connect an icemaker in the garage from an indoor water source, I needed a connection that allowed turning the garage icemaker water source off during cold weather while continuing to use the indoor sink. I couldn't find a local source so ordered this online. It connected and works perfectly. We now have a second ice source for entertaining and can turn it off and continue to use the indoor sink without interruption, regardless the weather.

Made for cleaner install instead of two separate valves. Like the all-metal ball valve design - lot better than the cheezy plastic / rubber washer valves.
