Really well put together book that's an essential piece of work for any cryptozoologists shelves. The illustrations bring it to life and capture your imagination.

I am mainly leaving a review because I think it was unfair to give this 1 star just because you bought the wrong thing... I was given the book as a gift and was really pleased. The art is beautiful and the writing is in a fun, knowing faux-expert style. Would definitely recommend if you're interested in cryptozoology and love beautiful books.

My husband bought me this beautiful book for my birthday because it contained the artwork of the amazing Lisa Seika Jones and she does not let you down here. Her paintings and sketches in this book are gorgeous and awe inspiring but unfortunately the book also features text. For some reason in this whymsical book about fantastic fantasy creatures the author insists on dragging you back down to Earth with her views on sexism, racism, poverty, sexuality and more. Sadly she finds any excuse, if men are mentioned, you know she'll have something awful to say about them etc. I had to stop reading about halfway through and just enjoy the beautiful artwork, it was so intolerable. The author doesn't add much creativity, fun or new perspective to the subject either, mostly saying that any given creature has XX feature but they don't know why. I am in love with the concept of this book but sadly, apart from the stunning art, it's not the escapist dream you hope it will be.

This is a fantastic book for those interested in magical and mythical beasts. It has loads of information and beautiful illustrations.

Sehr schönes Buch. Wäre aber schön gewesen, wenn das Buch eingeschweißt gewesen wäre,weil Neukauf. Ecken teilweise etwas beschädigt.

El libro me encantó no solo por que tiene ilustraciones bastante bellas, sino por que la información que muestra sobre cada criatura es bastante completa y acorde con la descripción del artículo. Me parece que vale mucho la pena comprarlo, aunque me habría gustado que incluyeran a otros seres míticos de gran importancia.

Not just a fun read, but a well illustrated one as well. Lily Seika Jones' art perfectly sets off the prose. This book would be suitable for all ages of lovers of sci-fi, fantasy, legends and lore and more.
