HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Dutched Cocoa Powder Can, 8 oz

It's cocoa powder, it is what it is BUT let's focus on the shipping though! I placed my order on the 17th and at 5pm on the 20th (the delivery day) it hadn't been shipped. I was concerned and annoyed AF because I needed it for something tomorrow morning! My order must have been coming from a few blocks away cuz it was delivered before the 8pm delivery time! Couldn't be more pleased. Now to the powder, I haven't opened it as yet but this is my brand of choice, it dissolves completely, nice rich color, great taste and quality. Blends nicely in dishes and does not have a grainy texture in frosting and puddings.

Always a favorite for baking. My chocolate cakes, brownies, and chocolate buttercream frosting wouldn't be the same without it.

Even before Montezuma's days, the Incas in Peru considered cocoa to be "the drink of the Gods," which explains why "Theobroma cacao," the modern scientific name for this plant, means "God" "drink" "cacao" in the Greek language. However, radiocarbon dating indicates that the Aztecs drank liquid unsweetened cocoa before the Incas. In Honduras, archaeologists uncovered elaborately designed bowls used by the Aztecs around 1600 BC to drink liquid unsweetened cocoa. Disadvantages of cocoa powder: Cancer-causing mycotoxins, inflammation-causing bacterial endotoxins, the toxic heavy metal, cadmium, and acrylamide, which is the slightly cancer-causing chemical produced when starch is baked or fried (but not produced when starch is boiled or steamed). Advantages of cocoa powder: Cocoa powder, even when unsweetened, tastes much better than all other health-promoting powders, including turmeric powder, olive leaf powder, matcha green tea powder, ginger powder, garlic powder, Korean red ginseng powder, astragalus powder, amalaki powder, globe artichoke powder, milk thistle seed powder, reishi mushroom powder, Agaricus blazei powder, fenugreek seed powder, etc.

Ok this is not carried locally for me. The price is right and the add taste to food is delicious. Found out this is used to make Mocha coffee. I had mint and I have my Starbucks mint Mocha.😋 . It's a fine powder, blends easy into liquid or cookies dough mix. It also seems to settle my stomach so maybe there is a health benefit too.

Hersheys Cocoa is the Best Cocoa its all I ever use!! Excellent price, I could not find it in any of the BIg stores , like Sams, Costco....But I found it on Amazon!!! Thank You !

Remember this is Cacao and Hershey is an American brand, its not Cocoa as the UK market would view it. Cacao is the unsweetened version of cocoa, i.e. its more pure, has a slightly bitter taste rather than sweet like drinking chocolate. A little goes a long way though so bitterness can be minimised by using half the cacao than would be used as cocoa.

It's Hershey's cocoa. They've been making the stuff forever, and they are very good at it.
