But it just stopped working with no warning, which could be really bad if you expect proper function, and you end up scrambling to get the key from its spot. The batteries are good (I even tried replacing them), but the light will go green and stay that way without actuating the lock mechanism, even after reprogramming the print. The light won't go out without removing the batteries. So the fingerprint part no longer functions. It looks like the company is out of business anyway, but if you happen to be looking this up to buy it at a garage sale or something, beware. Review: Great protection, security, and speed! - I was looking for a secure and affordable biometric gun safe to secure my handgun from my toddler. The Artemis 2 was perfect. It is lightweight, so my bedside nightstand drawer isn't weighed down. One cannot open it without a registered fingerprint or the key. It maintains dozens of fingerprints, plenty enough for my wife and I to register all fingers and thumbs. It has worked flawlessly every time, and is quick. There are no buttons to press prior to applying your finger, just press and open.
