Sturdy, tough, glides on metal rod. We have a vintage metal rod that requires double the shower curtain and lining. It's so high up on the wall... I'm pretty sure the house was built around the da*n thing. But, these rings hold up to the metal rod AND the speed bump (two rods together creating an over lap). And I'm pretty passionate about this inconvenient speed bump on my shower curtain rod because it is the most infuriating experience. When you attempt to open our shower curtain it interrupts the usual fluid "whooosh" motion... very unsatisfying... But not with these little rings. I'm happy to announce that the whoosh is here and better than ever. These rings are durable, thick plastic. The locking mechanism helps to insure that the curtain stays on for once! (If I'm being honest there have been many times that my curtain was just hanging on by like three hooks. Why are shower curtains so frustrating?) So these rings are great and they're not those cheapo ones that eventually loosen from the weight of the liner and curtain. Remember I have four total curtains on my ancient curtain rod so believe me when I tell you that these things are the real deal. (I've now had them for over a year and they're still great - I've changed curtains several times since then too.) Other reviewers have said that it is difficult to open them, and I do agree. With weaker hands I'm sure it could be more difficult so please keep that in mind - but other wise these are great. They still don't help with preventing the liner from touching me but I don't think these rings are qualified to do that. Edited for clarity and an update. Update: they still work great after a year+ of daily use.

I recently had a strong water pressure hand held shower sprayer installed; needed sturdier equipment to hold the curtain liner and outer cloth curtain in place. Was tired of the cheap rings that the curtain liner was constantly popping off of - so I'd have to reach up in the middle of my shower to reattach it. No longer an option now that I use a shower chair. Hours of research - decided to order these. My son removed both the liner and cloth outer curtains, then re-hung both on these rings. He claimed it was a little difficult. In my opinion, was well worth the effort since, not once, has either curtain detached from the rings. They are just the right size so the curtains aren't hanging too low. They're a good weight, nice and sturdy, and, best of all, they snap into place and never open unless you decide to open them. Very nice , slide well. Three of them did not lock. Because they are cheap I ordered another set instead of returning.

Easy to work with

I am really impressed with these shower curtain rings, I even ordered some not just for me, but for my mom too. My mom had the same problem I had, which the shower curtain kept coming off the old rings, which were smaller and thinner than these. So I thought there had to be some good quality shower curtain rings that would hold up shower curtains without causing them to fall, plus the old rings were very flimsy, that's why they didn't stay up for too long. Well these new rings I bought are EXCELLENT. And I truly mean that, these are made very very well, they're a thick plastic, heavy duty, will hold up any curtains, and I could tell will last. I will never go back to the old flimsy rings anymore. I've checked all the stores around here, and none of them had such a good quality as this one. Thank you Amazon for offering such a great product.

DO NOT BUY....these DO NOT BEND to put around the actual shower curtain rod. Unless you have a shower curtain rod that is removable (mine unfortunately is permanently attached) do not buy these because the only way to get them on the rod is to remove the rod & slide it through all the holes. This plastic material these are made of have absolutely NO give to them at all & will break if you try to put them on. How over 6K people are ok with this.. I guess they luckily don't have a permanent shower rod stuck into their wall like I do. I've had plastic one's before & never had this problem, you were able to bend them enough to get the opening large enough to fit around the shower curtain, these...No.

Looked nice but the rings were too big (wide) for my shower curtain's holes, & it was difficult to open & close the catches.

I use these for hold my outdoor curtains on my porch and they are holding up well.

These are the best - easy to open/clip over the curtain rod, durable and flexible. I have bought many other similar styles only to have them break within a few months. These are heavy duty with good flexibility . . . bought 3 sets for all my bathrooms.
