In a weak moment I splashed out on another FESTOOL thinking ‘I don’t really need this’ - more so given the cost of FESTOOL. But I t has already earned its keep. I have used it for flattening poly filler sets prior to decorating. It connects to a Miele vacuum (so you don’t have to buy a FESTOOL dust extractor) and there has been no dust when using this, a huge plus when decorating. Use Mirka abranet for best results with this hand sander.

Hand sanding without the dust makes it’s so much easier and neater. It’s comfortable in the hands and attaching to a dust extractor is a must

Festool ist immer meine Nummer 1!

This is a hard plastic sanding block with hook and loop fasteners for the sandpaper. I questioned why I would pay so much for a non-powered sanding device - until I used it. It fits nicely on the Festool 27mm dust extractor hose but you must be careful to 'pop' the block into the hose completely to get a tight fit that does not come loose (it doesn't, in spite of some other reviews here). It removes almost all of the sanding dust, I only see a few stray particles drifting away, thus keeping the work surface clean so you can see what you are doing. I've used it for rough 50 and 80 grit papers all the way up to 600 grit when applying fine finishes. The control it gives you is a big plus. The only negative I can see is that the pad cannot be changed. If you mess it up you'll have to buy a whole new block. I'm sure the green logo makes this cost 63 bucks when it should be around 25. Still, it is worth it go me and I"ll buy another when the time comes.
