Coming Home

This CD is perfection. Forget the "patter" before some of the songs as a negative reviewer has mentioned and just listen to KC's voice. A rich and beautiful soprano that she uses perfectly on every number. There's not a bad track on this recording. Best cut on the album was written by her self professed favorite composer Jerome Kern. "All the Things You Are" is a vocal master class and goosebump inducing.....I LOVE THIS DISK......it will not disappoint...I give it 5 stars, not 4.... ***** A great example of a very special TRUE ARTIST performing at the highest level. Kristen Chenoweth is a true musical genius.

She jokes during the concert that her hometown grew, but she didn't. God made her petite for a reason. God said, "Don't worry, I got this. I've got a very special gift just for you, just because you're little." You see how small she is, and then you hear that magnificient voice! She's incredible! Kristen saved her best for her hometown family. LOVE THIS CD!!

The songs are well chosen and performed with that special blend of charm and virtuosity that is Ms. Chenoweth's trademark. Her vocal performances are virtually flawless and what kept me marveling is that this woman can sing absolutely EVERYTHING - every style, every genre from country to opera and do it RIGHT! She is a real treasure and this album is a treat.

This may be my all time favorite CD. Kristin Chenoweth is an amazing vocalist and she has never sounded better. This collection of songs reveals her incredible range and ability to sing a variety of styles. Her vocal training supports every effort but her emotional interpretation is also brilliant. And then there's her humor. I love every song; couldn't pick a favorite if I had to but find myself listening all the time. What a talent!

I don't love recorded live music. However, once you get past the intro to each song (Kristin, you are adorable and your stories are cute but I just want to hear you sing!) the music is good. More than one performance brought tears to my eyes, which is saying a lot because I was rolling my eyes during the spoken intros!

Good things come in small packages; and this is a fantastic performance by the 4' 11" very talented Kristin Chenoweth. Of course I'm partial to theater and film music, and Kristin's unique voice lends much credibility to the music selections; you'll enjoy them all. Pay particular attention to FOR GOOD in which she is joined by Axyl Longford...an young lady with an equally powerful and eloquent voice and the talent that highlights this counterpoint duet - the capstone message of WICKED. The recording is from a live performance at Broken Arrow OK where Kristin grew up and it makes one want to see the performance itself (it will be on PBS they say). And the Broken Arrow High School choir lends their equally beautiful voices to several numbers too. Must be something special about vocal talents of Broken Arrow OK.

This is Kristin Chenoweth at her best! Ms. Chenoweth recorded the concert in her home town of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Her dialogue intersperses nicely with the songs. I received the digital CD a month ago and have listed to it at least a dozen times. For the first time, I have a CD that contain no songs that need to be skipped over. My two favorite songs are "Hard Times Come Again No More" and "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again". If I could, I would give this 10 stars.

She triumphantly and emotionally returns to her Broken Arrow, Oklahoma home to do a special live concert that we saw Nov 28th on PBS. We also have the album and enjoy it also very much. This is a pretty little lady with a huge but pashionate voice who brings the absolute best renditions of all the music she selects to our great enjoyment. We go back to seeing Barbra on Broadway in "Funny Girl" as our start to seeing great vocalists 50 years ago and Kristen is right up there with the best!

Excellent, having seen the PBS concert makes it even more enjoyable.

We ordered this cd and it came just over a day, very good service. The cd is great, we also have the dvd and Kristin Chenoweth has such a fantastic voice, think she could sing anything including opera! It is a live concert she recorded when she returned to her home town in Oklahoma, so you do get clapping. So pleased i got this album, i also have Let yourself go, and that is great too if you are a lover of musical theatre dont hesitate!!

This isn't my favourite Kristin Chenoweth album, only because though she is a charmer, less talk and more of her wonderful voice singing would have helped. I know it is taken from a television special, and it is special, but some of the songs get a little short-shift. Her weakest performance - and it is still really good - is the first song which is not quite in the right key to demonstrate the lady's perfect voice, and perhaps she takes it too fast and was nervous about being 'home'. But after that - clear the tracks, cause this is a great trip. But it is time to stop talking about her being shorter than average. She has a very large spirit, huge soul, and gigantic talent.

Big Fan of Kristin's. Hoping these cd's would arrive in time for Christmas and they did. :) Great homecoming concert.
