Great threshold, much less expensive than the big box stores
Our old threshold was in bad shape due to water infiltration. Looked around for a comparable replacement. Saw one online at Home Depot for over $100 but it was not in stock locally. Looked on Amazon and found what looks like the exact same item for less than half the price. Got it quickly but it only came with 4 nuts and bolts - we got the 73 inch version which should have come with 8 nuts and bolts, to match the 8 mounting holes. I contacted Amazon but they could not send additional hardware - only offered a refund or replacement (which I thought was overkill). So I contacted MD Products and they are shipping the extra hardware for free. I did a test installation with the 4 bolts and it looked good and fit nicely, once trimmed. As others have said, the wood part is held together with staples that don't hold that well, so I reinforced that with wood glue and a few finish nails (with pre-drilled holes, so as not to crack the wood) and this made it much sturdier. Also, check the photos in other reviews here on Amazon for great tips on how to secure the washers to the bolts. The included instructions for that were a little vague.

Great product, great price
This product was well manufacture and arrived in good shape. It was half the price of what you would pay in big box stores. I would re-order this again.

Poor wood quality and does not come with hardware
What a poor product and presentation. The wood plate is in such a poor quality and brittle. It arrived chipped at the corner although the box was ok. I see that I'm not the only one who got it like that. It's because the wood quality is poor. And it did not come with hardware. It's ridiculous that we have to buy all the hardware. It's not just screws and nuts. You would need T fitting to make the adjustable height work. People don't have T fittings just laying around in the garage. In the product description, it says it will come with the hardware. Then upon receiving product, the slip says it does not come with the hardware. What a lazy seller. At least make things clear so people know what they are getting into.

A good value but requires some skill and tools to install properly
As another reviewer suggested, this 73" threshold seems to be from "seconds" stock from M-D, hence the lower price than the 72" version available at box stores. The one I received had a very minor flaw in the wood on the underside, nothing that would affect installation or use. I would not buy this without 'free returns' available, in case the one received has unacceptable flaws. But mine also did not match the provided instructions for pushing the washer onto the bolt. Instructions show it sitting flush, so using a hammer with a socket to tap the washer into place would work. The item I received has the bolts sitting below the top surface by about 1/8" (as if a small wood plug could be place above to hide it?) Because of this difference, I completed the assembly by using a bench vice rather than a hammer. This allows a spacer (I used a hex nut) to be taped to one side of the vice, against which the bolt head can sit while the socket presses the washer on. See images. This made it very easy to turn the vice until the washer was snug. Aside from the above, installation follows the instructions. An angle grinder makes short work of trimming. (Tip: to remove your old threshold, slice it down the middle and take it out in two parts.) The aluminum and visible wood on my unit was flawless. I really like that it is adjustable since my old house has some issues with level floors, and also seasonal changes can affect the tightness of the door. I paired my installation with the M-D Building Products 69554 1-3/4-Inch by 36-Inch DB003 U-Shaped Door Bottom with Drip Cap. It's a quality component and mates well with the threshold.

Good looking threshold
Well designed cut to fit makes it look original

Fit like a charm.
Had to replace the threshold on our door that goes to the sun porch. I was kind of nervous about trying to replace that since it was built into the door, but it was really easy. It was long enough. I only had to cut one end and then I stained it worked great I’d buy it again, but I hope I don’t have to.

Difficult assembly. Moderate quality issues.
I bought three of these thresholds to replace the factory thresholds on some Jeld-Wen doors that had to be reinstalled (removing the doors damaged the originals). I found the following: Pros: ++I got them to work. +My carbide-tipped miter saw had no problem trimming these to a true 36", my required dimension. Out of the box, they were ~1/8 inch larger than this. +Aluminum components seemed sturdy, and were well bonded to wood base. Cons: ---[THIS IS THE TLDR PORTION!!!] The "washers" used to keep the adjustable threshold up have to be press fit onto the provided bolts, or the threshold will just fall back down. I did this with a hammer and a bit of tube. In the disassembled provided state, the washers won't move above the threaded portion of the bolt as described in the instructions without mechanical force. These really should have come preassembled to the adjustable oak component. ---Very poor instructions (see above). If you follow the instructions to the letter without extrapolation, the threshold will not work (will just go to the lowest position and not stay up). I had to disassemble the factory threshold for guidance on how to make it work. -The various sub components were not completely aligned (trim stuck out further than aluminum, which stuck out further than the wood base, etc.). -Front trim piece is very lightly stapled on, and will come off and need reattachment. -M-D also makes a 2" extension piece to make these work with a 2x6 wall. The extensions work...sort of. They tend to "pop" back up after installation, as the bottom aluminum retention lip is miniscule. Meh: -Oak pieces chip easily. This is kind of expected though for a wood piece, so not really a con. It may be a reason to consider a vinyl or composite-style threshold instead.

Not a lot I can say, but these are nice. Had this shipped to Australia, as what you can get in Australia at big box stores are low quality plain. This one is adjustable and seen these in the USA, and they are nice with the adjustable feature. Installed on our external door, and looks fantastic! Far better than what I can find here.

It was perfect for a double door we installed in our cabin. Fits perfectly in a 2x4 wall construction and was easy to cut to size.

I am so happy with this purchase. It is impossible to find door sills these days. Door and window companies stopped supplying framing materials for old doors. I wanted to re-purpose older doors that suited my needs without having to buy new doors and toss them out. You have to purchase the door to just get a new frame. This was the best thing ever! Thank goodness.

Okay this is so frustrating! We ordered one (looks great by the way, the wood was in good shape. I know some people complained about that) and it DID NOT have any of the t-nuts that it said would be in the package. No hardware at all. We phoned amazon and they said, that's weird! We'll send a new one out right away. So we received the new one two days later and..... NO hardware! And they will be odd pieces to find. The threshold itself looks good. But no way to install it! Such a pain.
