Follow the Colour Monster as he learns to identify and understand his mixed emotions through a simple, engaging story for young readers exploring their feelings. Review: Fun for kids, useful for parents - This book is a good tool for helping young children understand and express their emotions whilst having the fun of reading a book. The illustrations are vibrant and engaging, and the simple language makes complex feelings easy to grasp. My daughter who is 4 can now accurately describe her feelings through colours, which I can understand. The book it’s self is a board book so sturdy and less likely for kids to rip pages etc (great for younger children). It is also small enough to tuck in a bag for travel. There is also a pop out book available which was the one I thought I was buying however that was my error. Review: Great book - Fantastic little book for teaching about different emotions. Easy read and lovely illustration. The book came in perfect condition and my son loves it.

Easy to read, simple concept for toddlers
My toddler is struggling with regulating their emotions so we were recommended this book to assist in their ‘emotion’ journey. We’ve tried different books which have been extremely wordy and he gets bored with them despite loving books. This book is great. It has few words and uses colours to describe feelings. For example ‘this is sadness, it’s gentle like a blue rainy day’ red for anger, yellow for happiness etc. So when I’m feeling happy, I say ‘I’m feeling happy like the yellow colour monster’ which helps him to relate. He’s slowly learning emotions and by relating to the colours and colour monster, it’s made it a lot easier for him to express himself. It’s a small book so easily transported. It’s made a complex topic into a more easily understandable concept.

Lovely story. Great for labelling emotions.
I love this book. It's a great shortened version of the original. I use it at home and with the children I work with. They sure can have some very mixed up colour monster days

I loved the book and the concept but it was wasted on the toddler!

Great for introducing emotions to toddlers.
Love this book for talking about emotions with children. We have the paperback book which we've used with our older children so bought this for our two year old to introduce it easily. Good quality book with simple version of the story so fab for toddlers. Would highly recommend.

A lovely book to help teach feelings
My 2 year old son's nursery were using this book, so I thought I'd buy it to carry on the teaching about feelings at home. My son really likes it. He recognises the feelings as we go through the book and now tells me how he is feeling with description. A lovely book.

So I’m a psychologist from Argentina and living in Germany. I had this book back in my country and used it all the time with my patients to explain feelings. Even had puppets made out of the monster. I now work as a kindergarten teacher and was searching for it here. The kids just loved it and instantly understood each feeling and are able to let us know how they feel with the monster. Amazing resourse, good and easy story. I just love it.

NOT A POP UP BOOK. This is a shorter version than the original. Not good enough to tell stories about emotions
