Great tool
Works perfectly

Nice tool but loud!
Im a metal polisher by trade in a large Tool and die company. I bought this to use with the big variety of files we use. The brand and style we've used for many years is now hard to find and they just don't last. We use them continually for many hours at a time. I bought this thinking it would be the perfect replacement, even better then what we are replacing. As for function it's phenomenal, plenty of power and holds the files we use very well. However, the company won't allow it because of the noise level. It's admittedly obnoxiously loud... im bummed about it because the function of it is so great. Im also out the cost of the tool itself (the company would've paid for it, had it been acceptable). I can't return it because there center hole that the files sit in was a bit too small so I drilled it open to a 1/4" to accommodate our files. Wish they could muffle it a bit, otherwise it's great.

UPDATED REVIEW: Customer Service Makes the Difference
My previous 1-star review was based on my experience with the product out of the box and my total cynicism regarding customer service in general. The device I received never worked correctly. It would stutter and spit and stop for no apparent reason and I would have to pry the blade out or push it back in to get it restarted. I chalked it up to "getting what I paid for". And it worked well enough for me to muddle through most of the cuts I had to make. I figured (at the time) that contacting customer service would be futile. My mistake - mea culpa. After taking a week off to do other things however, I came back and this time when it stopped working, it stopped completely. Pull the trigger and it would just let air blow through. I tore it apart to see what I could find and when I took the bottom cover off, the o-ring that sits between the piston and the air chamber fell out in about a hundred pieces. It had completely disintegrated. If I had to guess, I'd say that it was just a fluke. Maybe a faulty o-ring or bad install. Regardless, this explained everything about the behavior I had seen - even on day one. Obviously, the ring was getting nipped or pinched at times and/or losing seal which resulted in the device's erratic behavior. Finally, it simply gave out and the device stopped working at all. I emailed a picture to Berkling and asked if they could send me a replacement o-ring so I could repair it and they said if I would send them the device, they would repair and inspect to make sure it worked, or send me a replacement under warranty. For that reason alone, I'm changing my review to 5 stars because in my travels, customer service like that simply doesn't exist pretty much anywhere anymore. And because of their commitment to that, I'm fairly certain that the device I get back will work the way it was intended to - which will more than make up for the difficulties I had from the beginning.

Keep an eye on those Allen screws!
Works very well but the vibration from the saw made the Allen screws come loose and one went missing as a result. Still functions with just one screw. Update: the company saw my review and shipped me new screws without me asking! That was very nice, thank you!

Buy a CP instead
Just very poorly made for an American made tool

Professional tech or not, this is the tool for you.
I purchased this to replace a worn out Ingersol Rand recip saw. I like the compact shorter profile and the reciprocating speed, blades and files it comes with are extremely useful. I am a working automotive technician with 30 years experience and found this tool very well made for the price. A must for anyone in tight spaces needing precision cuts.

It's ok for awhile
I bought this tool for collision repair so to be fair it sees a lot of use. For the first few months it worked flawless. Over time however the tool would not shut off all the way. I'm sure it's probably an O ring somewhere inside the body of the tool. I've had cheaper tools last longer and more expensive ones breakdown sooner. I gave it 3 stars on value for money because for $100 it should last several years and didn't make it a year. $100 for less then a years use is not a good value.

Good compact saw
I have only used it once so far but it worked perfectly. Small but able to do the job. I was using a 6 inch bi-metal reciprocating saw blade to remove a rusted suspension part. Well worth having when the full size reciprocating saw would not fit where I needed to cut. In response to a question that I sent to the manufacturer the max air pressure needed at the tool is 90 psi.
