Knightsbridge SKR003A Recessed 1G Switched 13A Socket with USB, Stainless Steel, 0.6 cm*12.0 cm*8.5 cm

Fitted one of these in our kitchen islandin 2017 and it stopped working, forgot it plugsin and in removing it rather bent the fixings. Ordered another but an Amazon resale for less than £15. Then discovered that the plug fuse had blown!! Decided to keep the new one as its nice and shiny and unscathed. Fitted perfectly into existing hole. Really good and solid and easy to fit.

A great look love the polished finish easy to fit and the plugs have the right angle to give them enough room for the flex not to hit off the worktop. The only one let down is the blanking grommet in the back for the cable which is very tough and really should be a little bigger if you use two twin and earths on a ring main, also the use of a screw choc block for termination would have better if it was a wago lock down type. But overall it’s a good looking socket and easily fixed to the wall and worktop, the top cover slides over the top of the socket which is fixed to the rear of the assembly.

Socket looks great and is very sturdy when mounted. Major downside is that the socket face is prewired into a connector and the wires are less than 1mm per conductor, this cable isnt suitable for a 13amp rated socket, i rewired the socket myself using 2.5mm twin and earth directly with a pigtail to earth the metal case. If you are happy to rewire yourself then this is a great socket and i would reccommend.

My electrician tells me this socket is well made and is a good make. It certainly looks good in my kitchen and seems to be very strong. We are pleased with it and bought 2.

Excellent. I've fitted it to my boat.

This is good quality and works exactly as advertised but… What is with the plastic screw head covering? This is a shiny chrome unlike the finish of the plug. I also can’t work out why it is so wide. Surely this can be made much slimmer. Both are small things (the measurements are correct) but would give it an extra star from me.

Horrible, don't recommend it to anyone. It is so huge and bulky that when retracted from the kitchen surface it stands for 40cm! It's like half hand... The round cup on top of it in diameter is 14cm... Imagine how nice it would look on your kitchen top. On top of it it's just so plastic and cheap, bad looking. Return with no regrets
