Been working for years now with no issues
Great mic, sound quality is clear but its not a studio mic so just remember that. I have been using this since 2021 now and its 2025, i use it all day every day for work zoom calls and all night for gaming on discord, never had any issues. Only down side is needing to charge it, but I have a long cable and use put an extra mount on my headphone stand, that turns it into a desk mic for when its charging. I would love to order a new one but the lack of USB C is holding me back ! Build quality has been good, No noise or hiss, and picks up my voice fine with voice activation, previously was using a Blue Yetti but it kept picking up all my keyboard noises so found this and have never looked back.

Excellent
Great product, used to upgrade the mic on multiple VR headsets. Only gripe is that it does not charge using USB-C, but this is expected giving it is quite an old product.

A fantastic mic with an annoying flaw
I bought this mic with the sole aim of sticking it to my Oculus Rift S headset, which has a terrible quality built-in mic. It was paired and charged out the box so as soon as I plugged it into a USB socket it worked straight away. Sound quality is very good. You can find examples all over YouTube: the sound quality holds up well even compared to dedicated, wired, desktop mics. The range is good enough for my VR setup and after accidentally leaving the mic on overnight, I'm pleased to discover the battery lasts for ages too. You can also use it while it is charging. The annoying flaw is the base is extremely optimistically designed. The interface between the mic and the base is a square of "triangular teeth" arranged around a neodymium magnet. It keeps the mic boom in place and points it to a specific orientation. It also allows you to rotate the mic 90 degrees at a time. The base is tiny: about the size of a small button cell battery. This means that if the mounting surface is not completely flat and optimal then there's virtually no chance the base is remaining stuck. The base is also round which makes it difficult to line up the orientation of the teeth with the mounting surface. The instructions recommend attaching the base to the mic, then squishing the whole assembly onto the mounting surface. Modmic could have saved themselves a lot of trouble and poor reviews by simply making the base larger and square. The base isn't visible underneath the mic in any case! In the end, I had to use a glue gun to get the base to stay put but the quality of the mic itself is flawless.

Works perfectly
I use these with my Sennheiser HD700. The sound quality is excellent - I am always heard clearly, which is the most important thing. When I first attached this, the magnetic mount kept dropping over time. I decided to stick the spare mount on, but this time following the advice of leaving it for 24 hours before using. Since following those steps, the microphone does not move when attached.

Incredible sound quality, but really annoying lack of pairing memory!
Positives and negatives, which shouldn't really be the case at this price point. I would like to start with a statement about the sound quality on this mic - it is absolutely incredible considering the wireless and "headset-mounted" nature of the mic. For context, I am using this with my Sony WH-910N (wireless headset) that has fantastic noise cancelling and great audio quality on the headphones side, but the quality drops when I enable the mic and put it in headset mode. The ModMic attaches very easily with incredibly strong magnets, even to the soft rubber casing and allows me to run my headset in maximum quality "headphone-only" mode. The audio recording quality of the ModMic seems to be on a par with decent quality streaming microphones (larger ones on a boom) and several colleagues have commented that it sounds like I'm in a recording studio when I switch to this one from my office Plantronics headset and I'm in a small "bouncy" room with several fans, so a fair bit of white noise to cancel. Despite the slightly excessive price tag, I would buy another one of these as soon as they overcome the two main problems, but until then I would only give this a fairly reserved recommendation given the one main negative (and one minor one): Negatives: Minor nuisance, but the power connector is still micro USB: USB-C has been around for ten years now and mainstream on every high-end device that I've purchased in the last 8 years. I can only assume that the design is over ten years old as even budget rechargeable devices are all USB-C now. I'm really hoping that re-release a USB-C version soon, especially if they fix the main annoyance at the same time.... The main nuisance is the pairing "memory".... or complete lack of it! Every time your computer goes to sleep it will lose the pairing. The only way to avoid this is to remember to manually turn the headset off (2-3sec press on the power button) before the PC goes to sleep, then turn it back on when you start using it again. It will almost certainly unpair itself a lot and re-pairing is done by holding the dongle button for several (~5-10?) seconds and doing the same for the mic power button, which puts them into the high speed flashing that indicates pairing, which normally completes in a further 5-10sec, sometimes needs to have the USB dingle unplugged, re-plugged and repeated. This will result in around 20sec delay (sometimes 1min+) from the time that you realise your PC has been asleep and unpaired the mic until you can talk on a call.... very frustrating as sometimes happens several times each day. I've tried the ModMic Discord support channel and apparently there is no BIOS patch to fix this, it is "normal and expected behaviour". Once it is working, this mic is amazing... if you're using the PC all day, it's great and battery life seems to pretty good - they claim 11h and I'm sure I've used it continuously for 8h+ on a regular basis.... problem is that it just unpairs WAY too often, seemingly due to a fairly major design oversight which is really annoying given the seriously premium pricing of the unit. If I had to buy another right now, I would probably opt for the wired version... I don't need the mic all the time, so the inconvenience of detaching the mic to walk around with my wireless headphones still on is probably less than having to re-pair the mic so often. Bonus would be around 80% saving over the wireless.

Best external microphone I've purchased
I hate having self standing or on arm microphones, I feel like they get in the way, they're not THAT amazing and overall, I like to be able to walk around with my headphones and speak to people. This microphone is AMAZING, people I talk to don't realise it's a microphone mounted onto a pair of headphones/headset and think it's a studio quality microphone. I did have major connectivity issues before, however AntLion since did a recall and replaced everyones defected units and since then, flawless.

It’s amazing, the audio is awesome and connectivity is a breeze! 5 stars :)

Used on an HTC Vive and corsair virtuoso headset. Attached to both fine and very convenient for switching between those devices easily. Would reccomend.

I work in a noisey home office (treadmill, fans, kids). I have expensive Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones, but Teams calls still weren't up to scratch. Twiddled all the Teams settings, Windows mic options, ad nauseam, and could not get the clarity of my voice during calls that I wanted. 90% of the problem is that bluetooth mic input on Windows 11 is sampled at 16kHz "tape recorder" quality, which is absolute trash in this day and age. Enter this device. Uses its own USB dongle to sidestep the above mentioned bluetooth mic limitations in Windows. Attaches to virtually all headsets. Gets a boom mic right in front of your mouth. The battery lasts 12 hours and can be charged during use, so running out of power doesn't seem to be an issue. The difference in meetings is night and day. My voice is crisp and clear, and nobody can hear my treadmill, 3 fans (poorly ventilated home office, sadly), or family members. The ONE downside is that this is not realistic to use when using earbuds. I have Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds, and would LOVE to use this mic as a boom during calls. If they sold some kind of dummy headband that this could attach to, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Anyway, this 100% performs as advertised. Your background noises will be gone, your voice will be clear.
