Very sturdy! Takes two to hang it.
The gate was harder to install than I'd hoped, but once it was up, I really loved it. It is easy to open for a grown-up, but it's sturdy and unmoving when closed and locked. Since it guards the basement stairs from my speedy toddler grandson, I am grateful for the assist!

So much better than pressure mount
Two dogs and a tiny human on the way, we decided to upgrade from a pressure-mounted gate at the stairs to our basement. This is a major upgrade, feels really solid, metal, would definitely recommend for a location that needs a permanent/longer term fixture. I see a few complaints about it being really hard to build and just...no. It's fine. Takes a little time and you'll want a drill for the wall screws, but the instructions are easy enough, it includes a template so you can drill without even measuring. Really not bad at all. After a few weeks I will say, opening isn't bad but it's not that easy to close one handed, at least with the bi-directional swing install option. Optional stoppers keep it from going the other way if you want, without that you have to kinda find the right spot to drop it into the latch. I like being able to swing it both directions for it's worth the hassle for me. Also I'm super tall and usually just step over it. (You'd have to be about 6'4" for that to be an easy option.) Not a deal breaker, def still recommend it.

Good safe gate - not easy/fast to put together
Installation was done by my boyfriend and he’s usually great with puzzles and instructions but this one seemed to frustrate him just a little and he had to do it over the course of a few days bc it was a bit noisy and the location is next/close to the room where we put baby to sleep. Suggest purchasing and installing prior to baby arriving. Also, gets some getting used to but I’ve hyperextended my thumb a couple painful times trying to unlock/open it. Once you figure it out and realize the right about of thumb force needed to pull/open it, it is a great stair blocker. Daughter is starting to hang on it though sometimes which obviously we stop her but it’s held up about 6 months so far. We have a dog too.

DON’T BUY!!!!
This was a BEAST to put together. The directions left out steps and the video tutorials didn’t describe it well either. I called customer support and sent pictures and they still didn’t give me the information needed to problem solve the installation. Luckily my handy dad figured it out on his own. Unfortunately, after days of tries and error, after it was put together, I realized it’s a sucky gate and should’ve returned it when I had the chance. The hinges are not locked in, so if you lift to open too high, the other side falls out. The latch is plastic and not sturdy. Ugh, what a waste of money!

Best gate
This gate is perfect for what we were needing.it looks great in the house. Steardy , easy to put up, latches nicely stays close and won't open when the dogs jump on it. Great product.

Works well, happy with purchase.
I don't have much to compare to as this is our first gate, but after shopping around for awhile we decided to go with this gate (we were looking for an angle mount gate that we could slightly modify to allow a cat to pass through the gate). The gate took about an hour to install (also installed a banister protector), but was pretty straight forward. The gate is solid and we are happy with our purchase. *The gate is a bit stiff to open (latch), but everything seems to 'break-in' and operation of the gate is much more smooth after a week or so of use.

Very durable, does a great job, I’m fully confident my children are safe at stairs with this gate!
Awesome gate, cannot say enough how fantastic this is. We researched countless baby gates because we live on the second floor and have a giant staircase in our home. This gate is very safe and makes us feel confident that our young children will be safe at the top of the stairs. For us it’s easy to use, but for people who come over they have a hard time opening and closing it properly. I’d rather deal with opening and closing it for others knowing my children are safe at the top of the stairs. We drilled and screwed the gate into our cast iron posts.

Terrible
Horrible gate. Installation was a nightmare and took a good 4 hours to get the exact right spot for the gate to lock (the included nail location guide is worthless). Finally got it installed properly and find out the locking mechanism is terrible, almost impossible to open, even for adults. You CANNOT open with one hand (obviously worthless if you are carrying a baby in the other). You have to press crazy hard with your thumb and pull up at the exact right time for it to open. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
