Great travel game but needed to get a good set of translated directions. Needed to get a better translation of the characters on the pieces but overall it's a nice little travel set. My son and I enjoy it.

Good quality board with solid, laser-carved pieces, but the characters on the pieces are rather stylized, making deciphering them a challenge for anyone who's first language isn't Chinese. As an example, the photo here is of the "Elephant" piece from this set (left) and a standard set (right). I couldn't tell they were supposed to be the same piece! So, it's a nice set, but might not be the best choice for someone who's unfamiliar with the game.

I absolutely love the design of the board. It's very beautiful. The pieces are beautiful. The characters are a little more stylized than you might expect if you can't read Chinese, so just keep that in mind.
