Scafell Tent Hiking Backpacking Wild Camping | DofE Recommended Kit | Waterproof, Easy Setup, Lightweight, Compact | Alloy Poles & 3000mm HH Material

This is a superb little - BIG tent! I bought it for a wild camping trip, kayaking along the River Wye earlier this October. Last year I did the same trip in a Vango NYX 200 tunnel tent, which I found too small with a very restrictive headroom. The Scarfell 300 tent is huge inside by comparison. Plenty of room for one person and all your gear, cosy with two people and quite tight for three people! Easy and quick to erect - it pins out and adjusts beautifully if in windy weather to elevate flapping. It features two identical sized tent poles which gives it an even and very generous head height when sat upright inside, I'm 6'2" and had plenty of room. If pitching in wet conditions, the inner tent very easily clips in & out allowing you to pitch the outer tent first, keeping the inner tent dry. My tip would be to pitch the tent on a folded piece of tarp the exact same overall size of the tent. This will protect the bottom of the tent from damp etc, and more importantly give you a dry area inside the large awning area. This I found really useful when entering and exiting to keep my sleeping area clean and dry. It all packs away into a very small bag, easily carried in a backpack, strapped to a bike or stowed in a kayak. I cannot recommend this great little tent enough! Good job Vango! This tent is perfect for backpack style camping. It’s super light, easy to pitch and pack away (even for an inexperienced camper like me). It kept us dry and comfortable. The mini-porch is really useful to be able to keep the inner tent bug-free and also have somewhere to leave dirty shoes etc. (It helps to have an extra ground sheet to use in the small porch area as one isn’t included). The tent is a good size inside. It fitted me, my husband and our dog (who is collie X German-shepherd) comfortably.

An excellent tent for DofE! Purchased a few of these for students to use on their DofE expeditions - simple to put together, robust and hold up well to the weather! Due to it being Vango it is also easy to get hold of replacement poles, which Is very handy!Marketed as a 3 man but with 2 adults and kit it is pretty much full. 3 adults would make for a very cosy night!Price on Amazon was much more reasonable than in high street stores too.

The tent itself is brilliant, survived a year up as never dry enough to take down and pack away, even when covered with snow it held up.BAD BITS, although held up well under snow and heavy rain it meant it constantly sagged n the middle unlike dome tents.Air vents on inner don't have covers, it didn't matter which way round we slept, on a windy night we had stiff necks due to constant cold air.This is not a tent for 2 people backpacking, I used it with my grandson in preparation for scouts, you can not fit 2 people, 2 rucksacks and 2 pairs of boots in it, we left our gear in the porch area one night only to find everything very wet next morning after only a night dew, not having a porch groundsheet, contributed to that, lastly, not being a dome you can't hang a torch up.

After hunting round for a low budget hiking tent that could accommodate three people and was light weight, I found his one. At a great price on amazon compared to other online sites it was a bargain. I haven’t given the tent a full run but I have put it up in the garden. I was pleasantly surprised with its size and how easy it was to put up. I am a little concerned with some of the cheap materials and stitching so decided to make sure I took our the extended warranty straight away. Never the less it might serve me well and for the price I can’t go wrong. So far so good and a good recommendation

Unfortunately one tent pole has five sections on one side instead of four which means the tent is unusable. Waiting for seller support

Took this wild camping in the lake district and only takes about 5 mins to pitch and take down. Kept us warm and dry even in very wet and windy weather and compacts down pretty small so it was easy to attach to the outside of my bag for hikes. There were two of us using it with plenty of extra space for kit but could fit three in quite cosy, plus there's plenty of space in the porch for kit.

Easy to pitch and take down. Survived strong winds and rain with no issues. Got quite hot in the tent when in the sun but that’s normal.Comfortably fit 2 people and a row of gear/bags. Porch is decent a decent size too
