Ultra Classic
This is a great album. Some friends gave me a copy of the original vinyl back in the late 70s, and it was a major factor behind my growing love for country music. The Texas slant is wonderful; a bit darker, thoughtful lyrics, a little grittier than the Nashville scene these folks were blocked from. Thus the "Outlaws."I love many other Texas singers like Guy Clark, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Robert Earl Keen and Butch Hancock. They all have that certain type of freshness to them. Jessie Colter was Waylon's wife, and Hank Williams Jr. sings about them in his song "All My Rowdy Friends Are Settled Down," with lyrics like '"Waylon's staying home with Jessie more these days." I have given this album to several friends over the years, and I still sing several of the songs in the shower. This version has several more songs added, which makes it more of a value. But I like the original songs best. Highly recommended.

Je rêvais d avoir ce disque mais jusqu'à présent il n était qu'en vinyl je l ais acheté dès qu'il a été proposé en cd et depuis quelques jours je l écoute en boucle car je n ais qu'une envie à la fin du disque c'est de l écouter à nouveau. Acheter en toute confiance vous ne serez pas déçus. Un chef d'oeuvre musical!..
