Kodiak Furniture Phoenix Futon in Espresso Finish with Storage Drawer

This was a great purchase. It came on time, was easy to assemble, and looks great in the space. A few naps have already been had on the futon, so it's comfortable. Three settings give you options to either sleep, sit, or lean back.

This is a very good quality futon sofa bed. Feels very solid. Easily worth the price. Very easy to assemble. Perfect for a guest bedroom which is where I put it. The mattress is well made and surprisingly very comfortable in both sitting and sleeping positions. The hinge system inside the mattress is genius. Lives up to the hype. The mattress does not slip off the frame. No need to waste money on anti-slip products. It's got great lumbar support. I like that there are two sitting positions. It does take some strength to convert it from sofa to bed and vice versa. You don't have to be Hercules but your grandmother probably couldn't do it.

Assembly was pretty straight forward. One issue I had was some of the holes might have been slightly off and tightening the bolts took some effort. Instructions are clear and the videos posted online can also be a good reference. The Mattress is good. Sitting on it is comfortable but it did take some effort to have the hinge start to work. The frame feels solid once its all together. The drawers work on carpet as well as hard floor. The do not have slides built into the frame and so they just sit on the floor. Not much of an issue but I was hoping for maybe some slide built into the futon to make it one whole unit. I did have one issue with it arriving with some damage. I emailed the manufacturer and they sent replacement parts fast. SO if you do run into any issues they will help.

We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this futon. Made from sturdy hardwood that should last for years. You need quite a big space to assemble the unit, but assembly is straight forward, the directions are clear, and the pieces are color coded. This is definitely a two-person job. The frames, and the mattress are too heavy and awkward for one person. Once assembled, the futon is comfortable for both sitting and sleeping. The inter-spring mattress is quite comfortable to lay on. Great for guests in our spare bedroom/den. The roll out drawers offer convenient storage for the linens and blankets. Good value in a quality futon!

We needed something for our family room that could hold up against my cats! I found these at our local furniture store that guaranteed they would meet the price, well they couldn't. I didn't fight with them, I just ordered them from Amazon! They are exactly as pictured. They have the arm "trays" and the drawers. They are a great dark brown... oh by the way I bought two of them. I had to sleep on one of them for two weeks after I had surgery. They are very comfortable. They aren't a plush sectional, so don't expect that level of comfort. However, I love them and they are holding up great! They do take some time to put together, and requires two people. One of them does creak when you sit on it, but I still love them. We have looked at a lot of futons, couches, and even considered having something made. We wanted something that our cats couldn't scratch up the arms. We also wanted something that looks good from the back, not metal or unfinished. These are nice all the way around!

Great strong, solid wood. Love the color I chose. You really do need two people to open into bed and put it back to couch BUT other than that it does the job. I used it after surgery for a couple of weeks and I liked it. I was worried about the horizontal wood but it proved me wrong. No creaking or shifting - I also purchased the 2 drawers - again great for cleaning under Futon and quite a bit of storage space.

Mine smelled very strongly of fish when I first got it. Thankfully the smell dissipated in about a day. Assembly wasn't too bad but definitely requires an extra set of hands. My main complaint would be how loud it is when trying to sleep. There's enough play in the tracks that the pegs jiggle noisily when rolling or adjusting in sleep. IMO it is an attractive piece, so as long as it doesn't see a ton of use as a sleeper it's a good addition to a spare room.

Great futon, i wanted something I knew would last, and that came with everything. Not just a frame, with no mattress or vice versa. The product was set to arrive today, I received it a day early, yesterday afternoon to be exact, so kudos for fast delivery. This one is brand new and you can still smell the fresh stain on the wood itself. Which means it hasn't been sitting collecting dust in a warehouse for months. Which is great. Putting it together like most products of this size, is/was a pain. I recommend anyone putting it together, not to go by the piece numbers, simply go by the colored dots that are on the wooden pieces. We figured that out after spending to much time, trying to hard to get the pieces matched up. Haven't put in the drawers yet but I'm sure it'll be great. The comfort is second to none, and I've slept on many beds, couches, futons, and this is by far the most comfortable I've slept (or sat on) yet. Like typical wooden products it does creak a bit, but not annoyingly so. Also it has almost no give with the super strong springs inside the mattress. It's like laying on a nice pocket of air. Even when folded in the couch sitting position. Also it's very easy on the eyes and goes great in my retro apartment. If it falls apart or I start having nightmares about being attacked by Bears I'll update my review. Good price, good quality, great comfort. Enough said. ;o)
