The setup in my 2014 4Runner. Running a 5 channel NVX amplifier. Focal 6.5 in doors and tweeter in factory locations. 2 Dayton Audio 8” subwoofers in ported box. I wanted to add a front subwoofer for mid bass. Was able to make a box for under front drivers seat, with .2 CU FT. played with different crossover points and settled on high pass at 50HZ. Low pass at 120. Output was no problem. Had to turn down the amp gain to match the other speakers. Sounds great and gives an extra punch the brings the bass up front. Also acts as a bass shaker under my seat. I feel like it is built well. I like that it can go in a small sealed box. Base does roll off below 50HZ. My amp is rated at 150 watts bridged. It does not clip with my setup. Over all I’m impressed. Would buy again.

These are good woofer replacements for doors. Be sure to get low pass crossovers. They take a week to break in. First day not much bass. Second week these kick in. Lots of strong bass. Also, be sure they are sealed around surface mounting area.

I have run 2 of these off a Kicker Key500.1, set gains with my Fluke DMM to 100w RMS a piece to see how they handle better power than BMW HiFi amp (40w RMS a piece). I had to basically not send any power at these at all, they start cooking pretty bad. I have headaches when I drive from the glue burning up on the voice coils. They just dont stay cool. I also run an RE Audio XXX 12" on 2000-2400w RMS in same vehicle. The SW8s were more for 60-150hz and my XXX for 25-60hz. Either way, there is no way they could ever handle 150w RMS a piece. Not happy with these at all. I will probably buy a couple Kicker 8" L7Ts and fabricate custom enclosures under the seat for them for what Im looking for, and send those an actual 500w. Read positive things, but as an installer, I have blown 2 subwoofers. 1 was over 20 years ago on my second install for a buddy in high school. The second was because a customer insisted on me using a crummy $75 used Crunch walmart amp to try and send some Planet Audio 15s 2000w (some of the worst amps in the market). If you run an unclipped signal to these, I wouldn't push em past 60w a piece, they simply cannot handle any power. They sound alright, but after 1 minute I cannot stand the voice coils burning up. These speakers are not for me.

I paired these up with the JL Audio xd600/6 crossed at 120 hz and it is pure audio bliss. The bass is thick and rich. Is not club style throbbing bass for EDM, but for rock, funk, disco, soul, it is excellent— tight, articulate and powerful. Everybody who I demonstrate my car audio comments on how clear and tight it sounds and I get immense enjoyment from listening to it every day. The only thing to be aware of is that as other people have commented, you need to be prepared to creatively make the area on top of the subwoofer provide an inch or so more clearance for the subwoofer to move back-and-forth without hitting the grill. I accomplished this by putting a piece of wood as a spacer on the two sides of each subwoofer and then getting extra long 2 inch screws to screw the grill back in. It is completely not noticeable after closing everything up because this area ends up being entirely under the seat.

They add bass but it's boomy. We made small sealed boxes stuffed with poly fill. They are under the front seats in our 2016 JK Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. They are both powered by (1) Pioneer GM-D8601. They do add missing bass but they have a very boomy bass response. Modeling them in a free program called Winisd, in their ideal sealed box volume, they have a 3db peak between 50 and 60 hz. No matter how I alter the box volume in the program there is no way to get rid of this peak. Using a better double din car stereo like the Kenwood DDX774BH you can reduce some of the excessive boom-iness using the equalizer. Our not ideal small boxes have about a 5db peak which makes everything sound excessively boomy. We just moved our DDX774BH to our daily driver and put the DDX272 back in the Jeep. The Kenwood DDX272 lacks the better equalizer so we had to turn the subwoofer way down to alleviate the boom-iness. We have had them in the Jeep for about a year and they are still going strong. I have installed a lot of stereo systems, so I know a good sub when hear one, and subs this size generally dont really fulfill the role of "subwoofer" very well. These outperform any 8,10, even some 12 inch subs! The designers knew what they were doing when they came up with these. The bass is impressive, tight, controlled, and not boomy under heavy power. I definitely found every loose panel, screw, trim piece. These are worth every dime.

I have a 2018 BMW 3 series with the harmon kardon system. The underseat woofers are almost unnoticeable and installing these, even without an amplifier, is a modest, worthwhile improvement. The manual claims a 3db increase even on stock amplification. The speakers are easy to install; the whole thing took about 90 minutes, no requirement to modify/cut anything. I'd recommend 1) wiring the ring gasket (there is a BMW harness included), 2) installing the gasket, and 3) then inserting the speaker. You only need a T50 socket wrench bit for moving the seat and a T20 to remove the cover and mounting screws.

I bought these to replace my blown CX5 speakers. They are not quiet a perfect fit but with some adjustments I made them fit. Amazing sound and so glad I could get them in a 2ohm variant. Great price considering the factory replacements were double the price for one. So happy with the purchase.

So happy to have made the upgrade, now i can finally feel the bass in my seat. Most definitely worth it.

These subs are a significant upgrade to replace the mediocre factory woofers. They install easily and sound amazing. I have mine powered by a 5 channel amp driving 300watts rms to the two woofers. I couldn’t be happier. Do they hit deep like a 10 or a 12” sub in your trunk? No. But they round off the sound of your stereo and add a nice kick to your music that will leave you and others impressed. Word of caution, they do have quite the excursion when compared to the factory woofer, so you may have to leave off the speaker cover and trim some of your carpet as I did in my e90 335d. Do I recommend these? Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. Cheers.

Bought 2 pairs and each pair had one with a defective voice coil which rubbed internally creating an undesirable rattling sound. One of them even had a dent in the aluminium frame. On the upside, if you're lucky enough to get 2 good ones, they'll sound amazing!

Installed on BMW E90 base audio system, great bass, so happy!
