It takes a bit of getting used to …
It takes a bit of time to get used to but works well. Just press the button fully down to get max gas. If you press it lightly it doesn’t work properly. It’s a bit off putting at first but if you go for it and do five full 2 second blasts it makes soda!

It’s a good product
Simple function, easy to use and last long. No drawbacks if you use it correctly.

Bottles expire!
Love the sodastream. But just found out the plastic bottles that come with the sodastream have an expiry date! The brand new ones that have just arrived with my new sodastream expire in October 2024. I had my previous machine for about 3 years and then it broke. The bottles that I have from then expire in 2025. Sent this new one back and got a swop and the bottles still only had until October 24. Kept it this time. Just hope they don’t explode on me.

They lie about how many bottles you can make
They say 1 gas cylinder makes 60 litres of fizzy water. That's 60 1 litre bottles, based on 3 1-second squirts of gas. 3 1-second squirts does nothing. You barely notice the difference from still water. You need 5 2-second squirts to make it fizzy. That means you only get 18, not 60, 1 litre bottles of fizzy water from 1 gas cylinder. That's about £1.20 per litre to add fizz. If you want to pay a premium, not to have to buy single-use plastic bottles for your water, you might think it's worth it.
