Book as described in the description- lovely condition.Haven’t read the book but flicked through- pictures are gorgeous of montys garden and the notes look interesting throughout the book.Can not wait to read ! A must for any gardening fan but also for Monty Don admiration . One of the greats !

I am not an expert gardener by any means but I always watch Monty Don's Gardeners' World. His manner is unpretentious and his knowledge extensive. This book is in diary form and describes his gardening life along with the health difficulties he has had to overcome for many years. Even if you are not a committed gardener, this book is an uplifting read - worth every penny.

All of Montys books are great, but I really loved this book as it covers so many topics and is a fascinating read. 5 stars.

Wow, what an excellent second hand book, very speedily delivered. I used to read this book every morning and looked forward to that time. I got it from the library. I could not obtain another copy, so now I have given myself a great present. Thank you so much

When I first saw this product advertised and read a review on it, I knew it had to be a purchase. The content is culled from his own diaries written over a period of years, with his own photographs used throughout; don't expect hi-res masterpieces of photography though as they are instead genuine shots taken at varying times of day around the garden. The months use daily inserts but from different years; quite a novel way really to approach a work like this, which can be read either as chapters or as a daily reading plan. If you begin to read only a day at a time, you will find as I have that it is hard to put it down. But overwhelmingly I just love the narrative, the humour and the plain-speaking he uses; his knowledge base is huge and the journalistic talent is very evident. Altogether a great purchase and one I would recommend without reservation.

A welcome return from monty don following his mini stroke. Anyone who has followed monty's progress over the years is familiar with ivington, but this book takes you into the very depths of the garden, and makes you feel what its like to actually be there, not as a showpeice garden, but as a living, breathing, evolving entity, brought to life by monty's honest writinglong may you continue monty

This is not a book about gardening. I am a fan of Monty Don's gardening programs and have long admired his presentation style and his humanity. This book is a diary about his life as a gardener and a thoughtful human. I thoroughly enjoyed every page, his thoughts and outlook on life are uplifting. Thank you for writing it and for the inspiration when struggling with life's difficulties.

Beautiful photos that accompany the text really well. The text makes you feel cosy and enclosed in the garden. The quality of the book is brilliant.
