Original Power Supply ADP-240AR Replacement for Sony PlayStation 4 PS4 CUH-1001A (5 Prongs)

Was wanting to start playing on my PS4 again since my daughter is always on the PS5 when I get in from work. Haven't used it in more than a year since PS5 became my go to choice. Connected it to the tv in my man cave and no action. after several months of tinkering with it I figured I'd try a psu swap even thogh I didn't think it was bad. I was definitely wrong. This item was just delivered less than 30 minutes ago and the PS4 is back up and running. Don't know what caused the psu failure but I think I might buy another psu just to have on hand in case this happens again.

The other night I fired up my PS4, ready to log a few hours into FFXV and next thing I know, the PS4 shuts off and smells burnt. Must have been the power supply so I place an order for a replacement. The power supply arrived in great condition. It even came with the appropriate torx screwdriver. I swapped out the old one with the replacement and now I'm back to playing FFXV!

The power supply I received had a different port than what the original had.I don't know what the part is called but it's for the wire that connects the power supply to the ps4 itself the original has a four prong connection but the one I received has 5 so it will not work.Will not fit.

The power supply was clearly used as it had some visual scuffing on the outside, but who cares? You're not gonna see it. Half an hour and an online video of how to remove the old power supply was all it took to turn a launch-model PS4 that struggled to turn on in to one that worked like a champ, and has been running for a week now. We'll see how long it holds up.

I order this part but it did not fix the problem. I did receive it before the estimated delivery date.

First things first, this power supply worked beautifully and haven't seen any issue since I installed it, however it came with some scratches which made me think they grabbed it from a used ps4. I don’t really mind since it made my old unused ps4 work after years of not using it. I would recommend to search for a video on YouTube to learn how to install it properly which wasnt very hard to do. Good luck.

Works great just make sure you buy the right one.

The power supply arrived packaged well from the supplier and appeared new as advertised. I have had the PSU for 6 months now and the unit is still working just as the day I installed it in the PlayStation. Moreover, the PlayStation gets used every day for many hours.
