Maintenance tips
I bought this last year. Its nearly a year that I am using this modem (avg DL-50GB/month, UL-2GM/month, 6Mbps att). For past few days, i am seeing very rare slow download, which appears for a minute, then back to normal speed. yesterday night it was crawling for say 10 minutes, i slept off.when i wake up, theres no internet. modem power led is red, and all other leds are blinkingwith some swinging pattern. I tried to logon to 192.168 stuff, nothing works.after a hour, power and ppp led went off, other leds solid green.after an hour, power(red) and ppp(gteen) led were rapid blinking, other led solid green.after searching internet, I read netcomm NB6 has similar issue.( [...])i opened mine(two screws under the resting sponge, you may have 4, and plastic latch at two places or so)To my surprice the internal looks same as netcomm NB6 Ver1, just the plastic case is different from netcomm NB6.As per the netcom DIY, the two capacitor near power socket was swollen in my modem, so bought a 1000MF 35V(25V wasn't there in my radioshack) and I cut the plastic case to accommodate the big size of the capacitors.put screws and powered it on and it worked as normal.Tips :1)cost cutting and size reduction has made them to choose bad choice for power capacitors, you can buy two cap of same size (1000MF, 25V, radial) and so you do not need to modify the casing.2)cost cutting has made them to choose to only use two screws, though there are four holes and places toput four screws.3)Netcomm NB6 and this one (cl110) are exactly same inside, just the plastic case is different,so i now think that many such 15-30$ modem has same board inside.4)I do not want to give any star rating, because my perspective may be different from yours,I give 4 as per my perspective, because i was angry for couple of hours that it failed close to 1 year.and once i fixed it, its normal, so happy and 4 star, to be noted that its not an expensive modem.but if you cannot do this job yourself, then star will be different for you.

Siemens CL-110 DSL Modem/Router
The CL-110 is a DSL modem/router and I am using it in Madison, Wisconsin through AT&T. I bought the Siemens CL-110 to replace a Siemens Speed Stream 4100 thinking it would be a simple replace and turn on procedure. While it wasn't quite that simple, there is a wizard that helps you set this modem/router up. Unlike the 4100, this is a modem/router and not just a modem, which means that a simple internet switch can be connected to supply wired ethernet connections to multiple computers. I use the D-Link DGS-1008G.The CL-110 seems to have a more restrictive hardware firewall than I previously had as I did have problems getting my MagicJack phone to work correctly with the new more security conscious CL-110. Incoming phone calls would be sent to voice mail instead of ringing through. MagicJack technical support were pretty unaware of what to do, but a search of the web brought me to portforward.com and a procedure to assign a static IP Address and open port 5060 and port 5070. MagicJack now works perfectly. Of course if you don't have MagicJack this is totally unimportant to you, though it could be relevant for on-line gaming(?).The CL-110 does seem to run hot which apparently isn't that unusual for DSL modems. Related to this issue though is my uncomfortable inability to find any warranty information at all on the web, or in the box. In any case, while I am definitely not a computer expert, the price is low and this unit seems to be currently working really well.Addendum: My CL-110 has died 9 months after hooking it up. This is, therefore, not a model that I can recommend.

I forget that I own this product. There is no higher compliment.
The good: Just a simple DSL modem. That is all it is intended to be and all it is. Setup was simple enough and I could essentially forget about it once it was up and running. I have not had to mess about with it since I connected it.The bad: I have no complaints about this product. None. The ugly:Overall: Needing a new DSL modem is not an everyday thing, but if you do find yourself needing a new one, get this.Notes: This is a DSL modem. This is only a DSL modem. There is only a single port on the back (you can plug a router in here) so it will not function as a router and it will not give you wifi. You'll need a proper router for those.Michael

CL110 Ethernet DSL Modem
I bought this to replace the original modem that I had received from AT&T. I had problems setting it up, I couldn't get it to connect with the internet. The Wizard on the CD only goes so far and you have to take it from there. There is also a lot of info and codes you need. ATT wouldn't help me with it because they don't support anything but the Motorola modem that sells in their stores for $100! They wanted me to pay $50 to a third party company to help me with it. I had a computer tech come over and he worked for almost 2 hours and couldn't get it to connect. I ended up trading him for a used modem that he had that was the same model I had had before. It may be a good modem, but the directions are horrible. Siemens is a good company, but there's no phone number or anything for customer service and the directions that came with it are written in what I guess you could call "broken English". Like someone who speaks German is writing them in English the same way he would speak the language. Too bad Siemens doesn't offer any support, I won't buy from them again.

work good
This router works great for my DSL service. The instruction manual clearly explains how to access the router and set up your ISP username and password. A nice feature is this router will automatically detect which type of ISP protocol is being used and set itsself accordingly.

Worked for about a year.
This is a unit that the seller sources offshore for sale in the Canadian end user market. After some difficulty, I managed getting it setup with some suggestions from the seller who was responsive to my messages. It worked with my Teksavvy DSL account. I used a better power supply, and provided active cooling as I normally do with routers and modems to extend their performance and life. This unit lasted roughly a year before it malfunctioned. Fortunately my old D-Link modem was able to take over and worked for months until I was finally able to move from my speed limited ADSL line (that I had to pay Telus $10.00/month rent for to bring Teksavvy into my house) to a faster cable account. Of course no modem or router lasts forever, unless perhaps it's my ten year old D-Link DSL-300l, which is so old, the Tecksavvy database that the tech support guys use does not even list it.If you purchase this unit, be sure to have a backup ready in case of failure at any time, and I'd recommend using a beefier power supply rated at 1.5A, and using active cooling.

This product should not be offered for sale in Ontario, Canada.
The power supply delivered with the modem is not approved for sale to, or use by, consumers in Ontario. It has not been approved by an accredited certification or inspection body. (CSA, ULC, etc.)The Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Ontario Regulation 438/07 both require that all electrical products, devices and equipment be approved before they can be sold. Failure to comply with the Code and Regulation is an offense. A conviction could result in a fine and/or imprisonment.Installation and connection of unapproved electrical equipment is against the law, puts people at risk and is liable to prosecution.

Works well
Bought these to work with TekSavvy 5/1mbps DSL lines. I have an external router so simply needed a modem in bridge mode. I use 2 of these connected to a TPLink load balancing router. We live out in the country and bandwidth is limited so load balancing multiple ADSL lines is really the only option right now to increase throughput. Setup was quick and easy (use the wizard). After running through the wizard and properly setting the VCI and bridge mode I plugged all connections in and they've been running without issue for 2 weeks. For those that need a simple modem for a 5/1mbps I think it is a great solution. The power supplies work fine :) If needed, swap in a different one. These seem to be a great solution as ADSL modems are near impossible to find theses days.

Do not buy.
Worked fine for about 4 months, then power light started flashing. Modem broke down. Amazon said we don't warranty that item you have to deal with seller. Emailed seller. Sent me another modem , garbage doesn't stay connected problems all the time.
