It will depend on the types of workouts you are wanting to do. 13 lbs. would be the lightest that you could use for speed. If you are wanting to perform the slams and do more power, we recommend either the 17 or 22 lbs.

I would recommend the 17lb ball. He’s young but bigger so at 17lb he will build strength then as he gets stronger will shift to endurance.
