Nice beginning to a plane collection
This is a nice and simple snap-together model plane. All you need is a screwdriver, everything else just pops in place. If you don't have the time or want to mess with building a plane, this is a nice alternative. It is a plastic model, it has a few decals already on the plane, no big frills but it is enough for my 8 year old nephew. He likes the size, there is enough detail for him and he can handle it and not break any small pieces. This model has a little stand that comes with it--it could be nicer but he doesn't complain. A nice way to begin a plane collection. To really maximize the educational aspect, one can print info on each plane. A little history lesson never hurt anyone.

Do not buy this!
What a nightmare to assemble! The directions could only be read with a magnifying glass. Too many problems to list. I ended up throwing it in the trash out of sheer frustration. Total crap!

Love It!
I don't know what people expect from toys like this, but it was semi-easy to build (took longer than 5 minutes, but who cares), is durable for what it is, and looks great. Whether it is historically accurate, i won't judge. But it looks great on my desk and I will buy many more replicas from this company.

Seems to be more than one version of this same model ?
Was looking for the same version as the one I have, it was broke and missing some parts. Found this one. It's exactly the same except although molded in red, it's cheaper plastic. The one I have is gloss red (as opposed to mat red) and painted by the manufacturer. So I just used certain parts I was missing, including the stand, now it's complete. You see it was my dad's, he passed awhile back. So I just wanted to keep it as original as possible. Of course you could paint it and detail it, but I just wanted to keep it simple. I'm happy.

Nice but with a bit of irritation
Very nice to look at when done. Shows detail, overall very nice plane. Now...building this was a pain. The directions are not clear, and the pieces had to be worked in to fit in some areas. One did not fit at all and we just took that out altogether. Still worked fine without it. Not for a child who is easily frustrated. But if you are patient, in the end, you have a very nice, mostly easy, model.

Definitely not a build for children under 15
When finished it is a beautiful model and pretty durable. I purchased this for my grandson (a first grader) and it took me and his thirteen year old brother to put it together. First issue: The instructions must be written in 6 point type and the drawing are so small that one cannot see the assembly directions. I had to take the instruction sheet to a copier and enlarge the page three times to get some readability. While this worked for the text, it played havoc with the parts of the images that were supposed to show which of the two different size screws to use in each location and which of the three different size pins to use to hold the two halves of the fuselage together. Second issue: The two halves of the fuselage are held sturdily together using four steel pins. Unfortunately the holes for the pins were not drilled deeply enough to accept the pins and let both sides come together and in two locations the holes were too small in diameter. Solution: find a very small drill bit and very carefully drill out the holes by hand with a drill bit and a pair of locking pliers. Third issue: the need for multiple hands to hold the wings in place while the small screws are getting installed. As a project for my two grandsons and me it was a fun experience because I had the necessary tools.

A piece of fun
A fun aircraft to build. Just be careful with the pieces they break rather easily.

Piece of junk
I got this airplane for my grandson. He and I worked to together trying to assemble it. It was disaster! The parts didn't fit and one pin was missing. As we worked on it, several pieces broke. Don't buy it. It's a piece of junk and poorly made.
