InAir E-Z Build B-17 Flying Fortress Model Kit (Red)

I have a more complex model kit of another airplane I plan to assemble this winter, so I wanted a simple, but substantial model of the B-17. The InAir® E-Z Build™ Scale Model Kit is not a perfect model in general, but it is perfect for my needs. As it sits on its stand, the overall effect is just fine. I can move any of the three gun turrets, I can twirl or set the propellers at any angle I want, and I can have the landing gear down or tucked away in the wings and fuselage, respectively. Closer inspection can show the model’s flaws. Some of the seams have small gaps, and they aren’t necessarily equal from one side to the other, such as where the wings attach to the fuselage. The landing gear flips up into slots, but aren’t hidden when folded up. The tail landing gear was difficult to fold out and down to use it in the wheels-down configuration. The two halves of the already assembled fuselage don’t match perfectly. They do show a gap and slightly uneven seams on the underside and on top. But, just like the brush strokes of a fine art painting, anybody looking closely enough to notice the model’s issues is missing the point. It’s a small, snap-together model, already marked for display. In that role, it does its part. I had seen write-ups that mentioned putting the model together might take about 10 minutes. Without pushing for speed, I started a timer (counting up from zero) before I opened the box, took out the pieces as I assembled the airplane, and finally put the assembled airplane on its stand. I pressed the button to stop the timer at 6 minutes and 12 seconds. If you want a display model of the B-17 to sit on your desk or hang from the ceiling (your own extra parts needed for hanging) and you don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it, this model might be right for you. This is a pretty small and simple model of a B-17. It's really mostly a toy and less of a model. It was quick enough to put together (a few minutes) but is great to play with. If nothing else, it makes a good start for getting your children interested in building models.

Easy and quick to put together for a younger child. Durable enough to be played with by children but nice enough to display. The plane is a good way to teach history to the great grandchildren of WWII vets.

Not super big but it's very nice. I hung mine from the ceiling with fishing line and it looks beautiful! I ahve more to collect. It seems to be durable enough for a child 10 and over to play with.

I really like these products the snap on product models are really easy to build look fairly authentic, they are well built great for ages 6-10 heck I even want one of them. So what does this tell you. Fun with your child building these things.

This snap together line of airplanes is terrific for kids 7-70 and this bomber doesn't disappoint! These are marketed under several brand names, In-Air being one of them. They are fun to build and sturdy enough to play with. You (and your kids) won't be disappointed.

I threw away this item about 4 hours after I opened it. The stand was complete dumpster fire worthy. the wheels were completely stationary. Also the wheels were constantly falling off. The propeller blades did not move at all. One of the propellers completely snapped off. I expected the model to be a at least 30 minute assembly time. It only took 5 minute to assemble. If I could have, I would have given -5 stars. I strongly recommend you do not buy this.
