Teaching Gong Yoga

I would give this 5 stars if Mehtab would not speak in such absolutes about the gong. It would be much better if he would make it seem like there are more ways of playing than what he is describing. I am sure he is unconscious of what he is doing, but it is creating a fear mentality in many gong players who are afraid of traversing outside of the limited field of playing that Mehtab is relating. I have actually had students bring the books to my classes and say, well that is not in the book.That said, If you were to use the guidance in this book as one of the MANY possible ways of approach the work with the gong, then it is a great book. I have learned a lot from it. He is very clear and the pictures are great. He has a great understanding of his approach to the gong and he explains it very well.I would also recommend both of Sheila Whittaker's books for a broader understanding of the gong.
