Can you remove the handles ?

It is a screw top so handles lift off to leave just the cup

Are these microwave safe? Ie for warming up milk to luke warm?

No you cannot use these in the microwave.

How to stop black mould build up between layers despite cleaning between each use with a sponge? Not the safest for little babies!

Never had a problem with any kind of mould in ours, are you taking all the components apart to wash? Each cup has a silicone layer, white plastic part, coloured plastic part and an o-ring which should all be washed & dried separately.

How do you sterilise these cups - if not microwave/steam friendly?

Munchkin cups should be washing in warm soapy water or top rack dishwasher or cold water sterilising only.
